Today, we honour Ada Lovelace on her special day. She was the daughter of Lady Byron and had the title of Countess of Lovelace. (1815-1852), she devised the very first algorithm and is recognised as being the first person to create a computer program. She worked closely with her friend and mathematician, Charles Babbage whose special interest was computers. They were both instrumental to all of the technology we have at our fingertips today. And today, we remember Ada for her amazing contribution to Mathematics, Science and Engineering.

Tip 001
Multiplication can be made easy by a few tips and tricks: Example1 Calculate 3x5x4x2x2
We can group the numbers together how we like. So this can be changed to (2 x 5) x (2x2x3)
= 10 x 12
=120
Don't be frightened to pick and choose the order that you multiply in - it can make the question very very easy or quite tough! by putting the 2 and the 5 together, we make a 10 which is easy to then use to multiply what is left. :)
