Sunny days playing outside and a painting activity was just what we needed ๐ŸŽจ โ˜€๏ธ

We hope you are all enjoying the sunny bank holiday weekend? Donโ€™t forget to send in your Explorers hats, suncream and any clothing to coverup their delicate skin on Tuesday โ˜€๏ธ ๐ŸŒก๏ธ
If you can put cream on in the morning before nursery please? We will help them re apply their suncream throughout the day โ˜€๏ธ

Time to get messy and play with our farm animals ๐Ÿด

Getting messy can be a difficult challenge for some children so this activity is really helpful. They love the animals so much that it makes them want to touch and feel the โ€˜mudโ€™ ๐Ÿ– ๐Ÿšœ

With gentle encouragement and praise along the way,

Well Done Explorers ๐Ÿ‘

When your Explorers are at home do they love lending a hand with household tasks?
You can ask them for help in the kitchen as they can chop, mix, roll and bake ๐Ÿช ๐ŸŒ

Our amazing outdoor area allows all of our Explorers to choose what activity they would like to join in with ๐Ÿ˜Š๐Ÿ‘

It is sometimes practicing those gross motor skills on our play area and play equipment. Here one Explorer was using the digger in the sand pit . He stayed focused and engaged for a really long time. Concentrating well and problem solving when it didnโ€™t work how he wanted straight away ๐Ÿ‘ท

We also have lots of activities for fine motor skill improvement. Adding water play with different fruits here was really funny for this Explorer. Helping with food aversions and also water play fun. Pouring and collecting in the bottles. We make sure there are activities for all ages, developments and personal preferences ๐Ÿ’œ๐Ÿ’š

Did you see our recent post about our new Nursery that is opening soon?

There has been a lot of work going on behind the scenes so here are some sneak peeks of some of the work that has happened over the last few months.

This is on the site of Heywood Hall. Just a few minutes walk from our current Swinton site.
If you want to be guaranteed a place then do get enrolled now at our current Swinton nursery so your child can move across to the amazing new venue.

It's a beautiful historical building and was once a school called St Augustineโ€™s.
The outdoor space as you can see is beautiful and our Explorers are going to have so much fun here.

The opening date will be reveled soon so make sure you have us on post notifications to stay updated. Until then watch out for our posts showing all the progress made.

Look at our red activities we did for St Davidโ€™s day ๐Ÿด๓ ง๓ ข๓ ฅ๓ ฎ๓ ง๓ ฟ

Red paint and even red water. Using different ways to make the marks. Using car tyres, paintbrushes and using dye in the water for our boats ๐Ÿ–Œ๏ธ ๐ŸŽจ ๐Ÿšค

We love to incorporate special days when thinking of activities ๐Ÿ˜Š

We were learning about Earth Day ๐ŸŒ

We talked about the planet and how we can help save it. We talked about recycling and what we can do both at home and here at Nursery โ™ป๏ธ
Washing and recycling our plastics and paper. Making sure we sorted them correctly and popping them in the corresponding waste bin ๐Ÿšฎ

Your Explorers really loved this. Maybe they can help at home too? โ™ป๏ธ

Have you heard we have something special happening here at Little Explorers Swinton?

Does anyone know the history of the Infants Primary school at the site of St Augustineโ€™s? The former infants schoolhouse, was originally called St Augustineโ€™s Primary school but is now known as Heywood Hall. Designed by George Frederick Bodley and built 1874

St. Augustineโ€™s Primary School was built initially as a Secondary School to replace the original Bodley designed school that occupied part of it's site. Today it retains it's character and sits within beautiful gardens not far from our current Swinton Little Explorers site ๐Ÿ’š๐Ÿ’œ

Do you have any family stories about St Augustineโ€™s or Heywood Hall? Have you visited them before?

We can't wait to share more details and photos with you. Keep your eyes peeled for more exciting news and updates here!

Letโ€™s get feeding the farm animals ๐Ÿด๐Ÿท๐Ÿ„

What does each animal eat? What do they eat from and what way do they eat? ๐Ÿ˜‹ Using food in play is really helpful and helps with any food aversions ๐ŸŒพ
