Our story - A clear view on reading
Maybe you have already heard of the work we are doing, we have featured heavily in the press, been nominated for BETT, E-Assessment and ERA awards, and have been ranked 8th in Europe's top 50 most innovative companies!
We are now partnered with the British Dyslexia Association as a ‘BDA Assured’ solution. Our assessment objectively measures the reading attainment of students and is paperless saving huge amounts time and resources whilst identifying children at risk of dyslexia and other difficulties which can often be missed – all supported by 30 years of peer reviewed research form the Karolinska Institute in Stockholm.
Results are entirely objective; they give a clear and evidence-based insight into reading, offering an entirely new perspective through eye movement analysis, especially when it comes to silent reading. This has greatly aided schools’ abilities to evaluate their reading programmes, closely measure the impact interventions and help all students really engage and develop a love of reading away from traditional assessments.
At the moment the traditional combination of paper-based tests and teacher assessments, which many schools use to test literacy are riddled with pitfalls. They do not assess the full range of complex process involved with reading, and require endless marking which takes up valuable teaching time. Artificial Intelligence is the type of technology which can really make a difference, helping to offer new insights and level the learning playing field in the classroom.
