Are your basics feeling a bit icy? I decided to get rid. Slouchy soft cottons are something I wear regularly, so why am I wearing ones that don’t help me feel good.
From the list above, each of my T-shirts and jerseys (except this one) had something I wasn’t happy with. And I’ve clung on to them for a long long time.
Finding basics in charity shops can be difficult, but they do turn up occasionally, this time round though I’m seeking out quality slow fashion brands, brands which will help me feel more looked after in my comforts. I will share on here as I find them. Getting rid of three pieces, perhaps replacing with only one will be necessary.
Basics are an important part to wardrobe, helping to cross seasons and complete an outfit.

So for many years I worked for Cos. When you work for a brand you can’t help but be influenced by their aesthetic. Obviously or subtly, your style responds to its surroundings. I haven’t worked there for years but I do still receive their newsletters, although in my opinion they fall into your mailbox a little too often (yes I know I could unsubscribe) but it’s rare that I actually even open them anymore. However, a word jumped out at me this morning which triggered a starting point as I seek my new style.

“being the most basic or most important thing on which other things depend”
So as I begin this style exploration in the hope to reconnect with myself again, I’m looking for the thing, the igniter, the essential garment to kick off this next phase of my life. What clothing is going to be taking me into my 40th year? Let’s unravel the foundations for that new decade, as right now its feeling a little tangled.
And for anyone else who is looking for some inspiration; perhaps this could be a good starting point for you too.

The start of summer 2023. Waiting for your sister to finish school. Waiting for the slower mornings. Waiting for days where we try and figure out what we are going to do and then realise the days almost passed. Waiting for the sun to shine. And so we wait. Happily. Together. 🫶

Hello! I thought I’d drop right back in and officially return to work with an event. I did hesitate about whether this may be too soon, am I ready? And all the usual worries that can circulate, have I had too much time away? But I’m so ready to see faces, be with people and share a space to creatively learn together away from screens, that I thought why not now? I’m also reading Eckhart Tolle’s The Power of Now, so now it is is
Over the weeks I’ll be sharing more on what this workshop will be focused around, but for now here is what’s good to know:
1. Date Sunday May 21st
2. Time 130-4pm
3. Location , Marple, Stockport

I am more geared up than ever to begin working on WW again, there are many ways to create positivity with your wardrobe, and I can’t wait to explore these within an interactive workshop together.

Do you notice when your style is changing?
I am so heavily into my denim right now. When I say denim I’m chatting on about my jeans. I’ve got a few pairs that are hanging in my wardrobe, folded loosely and hanging over a rail which is my preferred storage method: accessible and organised.
My dresses are dwindling somewhat, my style is evolving, I can feel changes taking place which is why I’m sometimes feeling confused or a bit stressy when I’m wearing something that feels wrong for me.
Pictured is a vintage pair (which I tried selling for years!) they have little elastane in their composition, which means they don’t really stretch or change shape, which I love. They feel heavy and boxy, love love and with a rectangular feel at the top, this helps my pancake bum!
This blue is probably the most 90s classic blue going, and it’s not really faded after many years. A vintage pair, standing the test of time.
I’ve also got some fab vtg wrangular black jeans from which give me a slight curved shape as they are too big on the hip so instead of this being a negative I embraced it and enjoy the shape it gives me!
A day rarely passes these days when I’m not in a pair of jeans.
What I know:
Every pair will be high waisted.
Every pair will feature a turn up.
Every pair will have little elastane in.
Every pair helps me feel good.
Every pair I can move in.
When your style is evolving, embrace the items you love, they will provide you with clarity as you’re in the process of developing your signature look.
How’s your denim working for you? Any thoughts share below or get in touch.

My clothes have been an expressive part of me since I can remember; I have memories of a polkadot cropped top I wore around the age 8 which had matching cycling shorts in turquoise and pink! Roll on 30 years later and it’s my clothing that forms a strong part of my character once again! When motherhood has felt to take parts of me away, it’s been my wardrobe that’s allowed me to connect with myself; cherishing and appreciating my personal style, to remember me and feel good (even when sleep deprived, emotional, even lonely)
So if you’re a mama looking for support with your wardrobe; a caring stylist that will listen, understand and help you to reconnect with yourself again, then do get in touch. Or if you know someone who may appreciate hearing more about this service then please do pass my contact details on.
I’m releasing this Positive Wardrobe Well-being service close to mothers day but it’s something I will be offering all year round; I don’t even think you need to be a mother, many of us go through stages of feeling a little lost with our style, through transitions that happen in life & confidence Nash taking a knock. I’d love to help.
Thanks so much 💗

Do you have a chair that houses your clothes? A place you plonk your stuff instead of putting them away?
For many we Grab & Go in the morning, for ease, efficiency and miss any chance for creativity or joy from our clothes.
So I did a little poem, maybe you’ll look at your 🪑 a bit differently this eve & sit on it rather than stack things on it.

We treaded carefully.
Walking thoughtfully.
Welcoming the changes that are taking place around us.
Nature keeps moving. Growing.
We absorb.
We breath.
We sigh.
We connect. Together.
Sometimes it’s testing between us but then we share moments like this.
Hello little buds. You’re my little bud too.

I miss getting my ankles out.
A season-less wardrobe is a super thing but I am missing my spring time attire, spring time shoes when skin is exposed and the ankles so show
My mum had a tiny bit of her ankles out the other day and I was so shocked! How does one stay warm when the skin is on snow?!
Roll on I am ready for you… but welcome February 1st. I feel that 2023 has finally begun.

Finding your feel good.
A happiness that can be sustained.
From what you put on your body to what you put in it.
If it’s something I love then it goes on repeat.
I have a new favourite outfit.
I’ve got a new favourite song.
Had a delicious dinner then repeated it for my lunch today.
It’s not boring.
It’s finding your feel good.
Which of a repeater are you? If any…
