A little tip in times of crisis! Watch people's behaviour change. People become very erratic and highly strung at stressful times, this is natural human behaviour.
It's the decisions we make in this heightened state that is the problem!!!
With a National crisis upon us the worst of people's behaviour can often be seen. However, sometimes, I see the best in us with consideration and compassion for others.
The aim though is to stay safe! Be as calm as possible, don't let frenzy's take over because before you know it, you are in a situation that is way out of your control.
When out and about, make sure you are aware of what's going on around you. Location, people around you, vehicles, erratic driving and general hazzards. Look at people's general body language. If you speak to someone, take note of how they respond to you. How do they stand, are they engaging with you, also make sure they are not in a group.
I've already noticed changes in people's behaviour over the last week on numerous occasions.
One person in front of me at the supermarket, only last week was removed for being, uncooperative, selfish which then led to him being argumentative before becoming more abusive with the staff.
The staff member was only doing his job and ask nothing out of the ordinary from the customer. However, the way the customer reacted escalated the situation very quickly. I had already clocked his 10 bottles of shampoo, which was a red flag to me...
Simply being polite with people can go a long way!
It's only going to get worse, before it gets better but following these simple tips will help keep you and your family safe in these difficult times.
Stay safe, looking forward to resuming courses, seeing my students and some new faces when all this chaos has subsided.
