Continuing our celebration of international volunteers, today we shine a light on our mentoring programme for law students studying via our HKU SPACE partnership in Hong Kong. The mentoring scheme connects law students with alumni, who volunteer their time to give insights and advice about the legal profession and enrich their studies and professional development.
Over 300 students have benefited from the knowledge and experience shared by our Alumni Chapter Hong Kong mentors this year.

In April, we hosted alumni volunteers and students at our Volunteers’ Celebration Event, which gets bigger and better every year!
The event was a fantastic evening of celebrating our volunteer community and reflecting on the huge impact that they have had on our students. At the event, we heard from both alumni and students about how volunteering had impacted their lives, and helped them to gain confidence, skills and community.

Manchester Met alumna, Julia Rogers, has landed her debut film role in the upcoming British rom-com, Finding Emily, produced by the team behind Bridget Jones’s Diary and Love Actually.
Julia credits her time at the Manchester School of Theatre for helping her develop the skills and confidence to succeed on screen.
