This talk was a little bit special, I shared some pictures that have never been put in my talks before, pictures of previous me that showed vulnerable parts of my self discovery journey. I was super nervous about it, but what came out was empowerment and liberation💜

My previous self, is always at the side of me telling me that they are proud, picking me up when I forget myself, in my ear telling me to push on and give me a kick up the ass, most importantly, that they see ME. They will always be a part of me and that acceptance has been a truly beautiful experience🌈

Be curious in your knowledge, be compassionate with your questions and know it’s okay if you don’t fully understand but respect and validate💜

Did you miss me??… silly question I know you did!

I’ve been a bit quiet, I know, but life has its funny ways.. but.. I did my thing tonight, I had my very famous and still very popular Q***r Query hour with who is on a mission to make change in the performance industry, to stop people from being silence, for people to embrace their voices and to speak about the things they should be empowered by💛

We spent 2 beautiful hours together talking about inclusive language, inclusive documentation, boundaries, consent and how we are actively and visibly inclusive. In this conversation, I remembered just how POWERFUL these sessions are and how much value business owners take away from spending time getting knowledge, reassurance and their next logical steps💜

As a trans person, giving my time, lived experience and energy is brave, empowering and valuable in business - it allows people to ask the uncomfortable questions without judgement and to be able to walk away with an action plan for how they are going to show up for LGBTQIA+ inclusion💛

Being a game changer starts with you, it starts with making a brave step .. 🌈

DAY ONE🙌🏽

I’ve committed myself to having an ice bath everyday to help with my mental health. I’ve done cold water therapy for the best part of 4 years now but it’s been off and on, I’ll do it for a few months and then stop and I ALWAYS see the difference in how my regulation, emotions and tolerance for when things get difficult changes.

So, team! I am making this promise to myself and commitment to my mental health that I will have an ice bath everyday not for anyone else, but me💜

Sometimes, we forget what we fight for and who’s fighting with us♥️

My little army of warriors here and I’m super grateful to have them all in my life🥰

Things can be tricky, things can be a lot - but we are in it together and we will stand together no matter what♥️

Came home from work on Friday to find out that was taking us away for a surprise adventure to Cornwall, she had packed, organised the animal kiddos to be taken care of and planned any emergencies with the mother in law, all we had to do was leave.🥺

Parenting two SEN humans, navigating business, full time work and other life challenges can be tricky stuff and finding the time to be together can be difficult, I have also been struggling with my mental health for the past 6 months and life can get a bit overwhelming sometimes, but with the love and support I get from this beautiful woman I hope to be setting myself and us on a course for more healing💛

I couldn’t ask for a more incredible woman to be with and to do life with no matter how hard it can be♥️🥰

I’ve just seen several posts talking about the importance of having a smear as a woman and how important it is that woman look after their cervic and make sure that they are having regular checks. These posts are super significant for everyone to keep safe and make sure that woman are getting things looked into for their health but what if the person isn’t a woman?💛

I am a person with a cervic, I am someone who is of risk of cervical cancer but I’m not a woman, I’m trans.🏳️‍⚧️

Funnily enough, I had my annual smear this week, it’s taken me over 18 months to book this in because of gendered language, assumptions and trauma … I cried all the way through it. The nurse that saw me was super kind and didn’t once misgender me which gave me so much reassurance💜

What we need to remember folks is, trans people with a cervic also need to be encouraged to have their smears, they also need to see representation in statistics and support, trans people don’t have control over what s*x characteristics they are birth with, they just have to navigate it as much as they can but also to keep themselves healthy they need to same checks as woman💛

Validation, support and encouragement goes along way when it comes to intimate and sensitive checks - don’t forget about trans people when it comes to healthcare 🌈
