Closing out 2026’s Colleges Week, we at Salford City College want to reflect on the importance of community in everything we do. Apprenticeships are a core part of the work we do in education at Salford City College. Today’s theme in our Colleges Week thread is on our apprentices of all ages, who have strived through challenges and adversity of all kinds to become some of the most dedicated and valued members of their teams.

Recognition of that effort is really important to everyone involved in the Apprenticeships Programme here at Salford City College. Our apprentices work across virtually every major industry, both locally and nationally, leading the way on practical, on-the-job education while also being supported by our apprenticeships team within the college.

Celebrating Colleges Week here at Salford City College, today we want to celebrate the achievements of our young learners—in every discipline both academic and vocational. Across our sites and wide course offering, we build confidence in young people and develop their skills down any career path they might choose.

At Pendleton, our young learners embody academic excellence, progressing on to university and some of the most prestigious institutions in the country.

Eccles College is our home of Vocational Excellence, supporting students in their ambitions towards a huge range of careers—from sports, to animal husbandry, travel and tourism and health and social care.

FutureSkills is the home of our digital and media excellence. With fully equipped labs and expert teachers bringing industry experience, students here are able to express their creativity in Music, Media Make-Up, and much more.

Our dedicated students at City Skills are becoming the next generation of construction experts, engineers and tradespeople—and building the future 💪

Worsley College students showcase some of the highest standard of industry skills, from Early Years to Hospitality, Catering and Hair & Beauty. From culinary flair to talent in the salon, it is inspiring to see the work that young people put in when they have the tools they need.

Alongside COlleges Week, we are also celebrating our students' journeys as part of 2026's Careers Week!

We’re incredibly proud of Latekqua, now in her third year studying Brickwork at City Skills College, who after completing a work experience placement arranged by the college has secured a paid role and a full-time apprenticeship starting in September 2026!

What her work experience team had to say about her "She is a quick and talented learner, takes instruction brilliantly, and has impressed us with her attitude, work ethic, and willingness to graft.

Everyone’s educational journey looks different, and here at Salford City College we are all about supporting that. Supporting adult learners in Salford is one of most important aims, and there are so many ways that we help everyone from career changers to lifelong learners in realising their dreams and ambitions.
