Today is International Day of Sign Languages! 🤟

At Salford City College Group, we offer opportunities to learn British Sign Language (BSL), helping people develop signing skills, build confidence and communicate with more people in everyday life.

Whether it’s learning your first few signs or developing your skills further, every sign can help make communication more accessible.

💚 Today is 𝐖𝐨𝐫𝐥𝐝 𝐒𝐮𝐢𝐜𝐢𝐝𝐞 𝐏𝐫𝐞𝐯𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐃𝐚𝐲 💚

A conversation, a check-in or taking the time to really listen can make more of a difference than we might realise.

You don’t need to have all the answers - showing someone that you care can be a powerful first step.

We want City Skills to be a community where our students & staff feel able to talk, ask for support and look out for one another.

So today, and every day: 𝙘𝙝𝙚𝙘𝙠 𝙞𝙣, 𝙡𝙞𝙨𝙩𝙚𝙣 𝙖𝙣𝙙 𝙨𝙩𝙖𝙧𝙩 𝙩𝙝𝙚 𝙘𝙤𝙣𝙫𝙚𝙧𝙨𝙖𝙩𝙞𝙤𝙣.

Closing out 2026’s Colleges Week, we at Salford City College want to reflect on the importance of community in everything we do. From the partnerships we build, locally and nationally, both with employers and educational institutions, to the community we build among students in college itself, we know that everything worth doing is worth doing together.

With award-winning pastoral support, and endless opportunities for extracurricular enrichment, education with us is always about more than your classroom or even practical learning.

We build communities to ensure that the time spent learning with us reflects what it means to be a part of that community. Trust, friendship, understanding, and above all, support.

Thank you to everyone who learns with us, teaches with us, and supports our students in securing an education for a successful future.

Students at Salford City College study at all levels, and today as part of Colleges Week we are recognising the achievements of our Higher Education learners achieving qualifications at Level 4 and above. Our colleges which deliver these local, career-focused and flexible courses make Higher Education more accessible than ever, providing a pathway to degree-level qualifications for people of all backgrounds.

Higher Education students in Salford represent some of the highest level of academic excellence in the country, building on decades of experience which our dedicated teachers bring to the table.

Whether you are looking to progress further in your current education journey, or gain a new qualification, we can help you realise your dreams and ambitions.

Apprenticeships are a core part of the work we do in education at Salford City College. Today’s theme in our Colleges Week thread is on our apprentices of all ages, who have strived through challenges and adversity of all kinds to become some of the most dedicated and valued members of their teams.

Recognition of that effort is really important to everyone involved in the Apprenticeships Programme here at Salford City College. Our apprentices work across virtually every major industry, both locally and nationally, leading the way on practical, on-the-job education while also being supported by our apprenticeships team within the college.

Have you ever considered the apprenticeship route? Whether you are soon to be leaving school or you are thinking of changing career, we can help.
