Creating a sensory-friendly space at home can be much simpler than you think ๐
You donโt need to redesign an entire room โ small touches like soft lighting, cosy corners, calming sounds or different textures can make a big difference for little ones.
We put lots of care and thought into the sensory spaces in our nurseries, and many of these ideas can easily be adapted at home too โจ

Weโre delighted to share some exciting updates from one of our nurseries, Partou Field View Day Nursery and Pre-School in Alfreton ๐ถโจ
The nursery has recently undergone a ยฃ100,000 refurbishment, including a stunning new baby room, creating 14 additional spaces for little ones to learn and grow.
This follows recent improvements to the baby garden, with even more to come, a further ยฃ55,000 investment will soon transform the outdoor space for children of all ages ๐ฟ
Lynette Wheatley, Nursery Manager, said:
โWe are really excited by the results of the refurbishment. The new baby room is spacious, airy and packed with age-appropriate resources to stimulate development.โ
Our Managing Director, Samantha Rhodes added:
โThe new facilities will undoubtedly make the experience for children and families even more rewarding.โ
Weโre proud to continue creating a nurturing, inspiring environment for families in our community.

At Little Dragons Day nursery & Pre-school, learning comes to life through sensory play and imagination ๐ฆ๐
The children explored a โWalking in the Jungleโ sensory table, singing along, matching animals to their sounds, and even helping to clean the animals afterwards. This is just one of the ways our brilliant teams encourage communication, language development and confidence through play.
For the babies, the team created a taste-safe sensory tray inspired by a recent visit to The Deep, allowing little ones to safely explore different smells, tastes and textures ๐
Sensory experiences like these help children develop communication skills, curiosity and an understanding of the world around them.

๐ Building confidence through swimming at Partou Whalley Meadows, Clitheroe ๐
Children at Partou Whalley Meadows have been enjoying regular trips to Lancashire Swim School, developing confidence, independence and important water safety skills.
With team members supporting them in the pool, the children take part in themed activities each week, from singing Five Little Ducks to helping baby ducks find their mummy! ๐ฆ
Swimming sessions support key areas of the Early Years Foundation Stages, particularly physical development and personal, social and emotional development, helping children grow stronger, more confident and independent with every splash.

From learning to share toys to understanding big feelings, every small moment helps shape a childโs future ๐
