It starts as a jokeβ¦ Then suddenly, itβs serious.
Cold water. Hidden dangers. No second chances.
If it feels off β it is.
Say something. Stop it. Be a mate.
If someoneβs in trouble: π± Phone. π§ Float. π Throw.
Donβt jump in.
Knowing what to do could save a mateβs life.

It's the final Headteacher's Recognition Reward π of this year!
Joining Ms Cronin today, together with Miss Mason, were our school Masterchef entrants who finished in the top 3 of the competition last week. A marvellous effort from all who entered and executed their plan to be WH Masterchef 2026! π¨βπ³ Well done, boys!
Huge congratulations were also given to our boys who've been trying their best right up until the end of the school year and made it to the top of their year group this weekπ, as well as to every other student who has also been continuing to try their best all year, but didn't reach such dizzy heights π Every achievement throughout the year is an achievement! Open to all, every week, we go again in September ππ

On Monday, a small group of Year 9s, together with Dr Sarfraz, took a trip to Oldham to experience a 'Great Horizons' event with the amazing Professor Brian Cox! π¨βπ«
Discussing all things astrophysics and STEM - including black holes and the expansion of the universe - our boys gained knowledge from the world-renowned local lad πͺ. A real treat was in store when they were given the opportunity to put a question to him too, which they did in an impressively scientific and West Hill Way.
Representing us to the highest of standards, our boys were offered the chance to see something a little different, and took it πππ

π Friday 10th July 2026 - earlier closure.
Due to the hot weather and high humidity, we open as usual in the morning but have a planned earlier-afternoon school closure tomorrow.
Please see your emails and the WHS app for more details, including exact timings. School will be open as usual on Monday 13th July 2026.
β Please stay safe. Apply suncream, cover up, drink plenty of water and stay well away from open waters. Don't be tempted to get in the cold waters, they present a real danger to life.
