In our most recent , we'd like to share with you a piece by Dr Paulina Kolata on the experiences of death rituals under .
"While images of mass death became part of our everyday, we have been distanced from the rituals that usually bring us face to face with the dead and which are designed to help us process our grief."
Paulina's work on death care under Covid-19 formed the basis of our exciting audio collaboration with Lucia Scazzocchio from
and Sasha Edye-Lindner.

“"...both groups use this exceptional period to normalize active female ritual participation within the authorised repertoire in a public, institutional space. The pandemic has acted as a catalyst to get people doing things that we could have been doing before.”
Research Update ¦ The pandemic as a catalyst to do things that could have been done before. Jewish Orthodox female-only online prayer - BRIC-19

We are tremendously excited to be collaborating with Chaplaincy Everywhere on this research, which will allow us to recognise the “kaleidoscope” of faith engagements in chaplaincy and how these have responded to the pandemic.
Dr Eleanor O'Keeffe from the British Ritual Innovation under Covid-19 is leading on this important collaboration:
"Chaplaincy: A “Kaleidoscope” of Faith Exchanges & Spiritual Interactions"
This event is offered working in collaboration with Manchester Metropolitan University's research project British Ritual Innovation under COVID-19 (BRIC-19).
The Chaplaincy ‘kaleidoscope’ network afforded by the collaborative nature of the Methodist Church has dovetailed with Dr Eleanor O'Keeffe to enable this significant research to link with the widest footprint of Chaplaincy practitioners possible. This Webinar is the 2nd e-event looking at the changing needs of Chaplaincy in the challenging times of Covid. ‘No longer can we remain in silo-land… we must share and pull together for the good of humanity.
Chaplaincy is a particular personal ministry offering a heart felt approach to all… but also recognises the need for a prophetic voice to share stories of life and continuous change within a kaleidoscope of diversity and hope.
