It’s been a fantastic and busy half term at The Albion Academy, and we’re proud to share some of our highlights! From staff attending the Buckingham Palace Garden Party for their contributions to the Cadets 👑 to exciting Year 6 transition updates, and important support for our Year 11 students with exams and revision sessions.

Our students have also benefited from a range of careers trips, including a Year 7 trip to The University of Salford, and a Year 10 Hospitality & Catering trip to the Victoria and Albert Marriott Hotel. We’re also making positive steps forward with our solar panel installation 🌱☀️

🌟 Year 10 Hospitality & Catering Trip 🍽️ 🥣 ✨️

Our Year 10 Hospitality & Catering students had an amazing day at the V&A Marriott Hotel! They took on a bed‑making challenge, tried blind taste‑testing, toured the hotel behind the scenes, and grilled staff in a brilliant Q&A session.

In the afternoon they designed their own restaurant concepts, complete with logos, menus, and unique selling points. A fantastic careers experience and a great insight into the hospitality industry!

🌟 Student Leadership Applications 2026 🌟

Last week, a number of our Year 10 students took an exciting step by putting themselves forward for student leadership roles, answering three key questions about their suitability and leadership skills.

The standard of applications was incredibly high, making the selection process a real challenge—well done to every student who applied! 👏

We’re delighted to announce that 27 out of 48 applicants have progressed to the next stage, which will take place on Wednesday 20th May.

Good luck to all applicants as you take this next step—we’re so proud of your ambition and commitment to leading our school community! 💙✨

🎉 Jump Xtreme Reward Trip – Year 7 🏆
A huge well done to Player of the Match winner Yousef B, who chose four friends to join him on a reward trip to Jump Xtreme with Head of Year 7, Mrs Dalton.

The boys had a fantastic time tackling trampolines, obstacles, and even the high platform—showing great bravery and enthusiasm throughout! They also enjoyed a well-earned café treat, where staff were so impressed with their excellent manners they received free chips with their pizza 👏

Mrs Dalton said she was incredibly proud, as staff praised how well the boys conducted themselves—true ambassadors for The Albion Academy! 🌟

🌟 Year 8 Campus Experience – University of Salford 🎓
Last week, a group of our Year 8 students enjoyed an exciting campus experience day at the University of Salford.
From taking on the interactive ‘Million Pound Drop’ challenge—busting common myths about university—to exploring different subject areas and touring the campus, students gained a real insight into higher education. They also heard directly from current undergraduates about courses and student life, helping to bring future pathways to life.
This visit is part of our Careers SUCCESS Charter, supporting our commitment to raise aspirations and inspire ambition across all year groups. 👏

🎨 Art & Photography Trip – University of Salford 📸
On 7th May, Albion Academy students visited the University of Salford to develop their creative skills. They took part in workshops, learned from students and lecturers, toured the campus, and explored exciting future pathways in art and photography.
