Anyone looking for 1-2-1 tutoring sessions, I am a teacher who specialises in Primary Maths and Special Educational Needs.

Currently offering an initial consulation/assessment to allow for parents to share any areas of concern they have and a chance to meet the student to be able to gain a clear picture of why they want/need a tutor and to see what areas they feel they struggle with. From this I can go away and personalise a tuition plan to help build their confidence and knowledge.

If you have any questions or to book a consultation/assessment please drop me a message or email through to [email protected]

Hello, I’m Matt at MD Tuition, thank you for taking the time to visit my page.

I hope that here I can provide you with an outline of my experience that will help you decide if I can help your child.

I have eight years of teaching experience, supporting students of a variety of ages to attain success in their exams and to help improve their general academic ability, but most importantly, increase their confidence.

I am a creative and inspirational tutor, bringing a sense of playfulness to the serious task at hand, aiming to make lessons fun and interesting so that students enjoy their studies and are more willing to apply themselves. My focus is on helping students to think creatively and independently to increase their problem solving and analytical abilities. I also encourage students to be curious and ask the right questions, while being disciplined in their studies.

Where possible, I relate teaching material to the real world and to the student's own experience, which helps embed the learning. I am patient and encouraging, always helping students to find ways of learning which best suit them. I take a structured and creative approach, using multisensory and interactive methods, which are more engaging to the student. Whether a student is a visual, kinaesthetic or auditory learner; using a range of teaching styles and support materials, such as visual aids, storytelling, 3D objects, games, or providing written explanations, tailored to the student’s needs helps to increase their confidence and improve knowledge and understanding.
I also use encouragement and positive reinforcement to build confidence and interactive methods to help make things more understandable and easier to retain.

I also tutor Year 6 students to develop the confidence and skills necessary to master maths topics in the SATs exams and gain high marks. I work with past papers and other resources to help them prepare for the types of questions they will face in the assessments, enabling them to become adept at successfully completing them. I give weekly homework to ensure that they have practice outside of our sessions and can therefore tackle questions independently.
I have a good understanding of the emotional and developmental needs of children, which along with therapeutic skills, enables me to adapt my style of teaching to best meet their individual needs.

I hope this gives you a good overview of my teaching style and how I can best support your child to get the best from their schooling. I am committed to helping children develop confidence and self-belief and believe that every child is unique and has their own way of learning and that positive reinforcement brings out the best. I aim to make lessons interesting and engaging, helping students overcome learning challenges by encouraging them to take risks and try new ways of learning while rewarding them for their efforts.

If you feel that I might work well with your child, please do send me a message, I would love to hear from you. Thank you.
