Back 1 week in Italia🇮🇹

It may have rained from the moment we stepped off the plane until the moment we got back on, but nothing can take away from the fact that family is everything!

Always Always Always…

Move with 𝑰𝑵𝑻𝑬𝑵𝑻!

Making your ‘warm-up’ sets move to perfection will reinforce the motor pattern for the correct technique.

Therefore if you think ‘these sets aren’t important’ … you miss out on optimal technique gains.

Technique = the ability to handle more weight with a lower risk of injury

Always approach the barbell the same way, whether it be your lightest warm up set, or your heaviest set🏋🏽‍♂️

With my clients, I prefer to take their mind away from physique based goals and instead look for performance based goals.

“Your body is an instrument, not an ornament”

My clients and I focus on getting fitter, stronger and moving better - and results will come as a result of this.

We as humans chase releases of dopamine. Known as the ‘chemical of reward’ , when you score a goal, hit a target, or accomplish a task, you receive a pleasurable hit of dopamine in your brain that tells you you’ve done a good job.

Achieving a PB, will release this chemical giving you that feeling of accomplishment

It’s then my job as a coach to celebrate your success with you!

It would be;

That no matter how much you want to help or control situations

Sometimes there is just nothing you can do.

Control what you can,
Worry less about what you can’t

𝙿𝚊𝚝𝚒𝚎𝚗𝚌𝚎... 𝚘𝚛 𝚕𝚊𝚌𝚔 𝚘𝚏

The problem I see with the majority of potential clients, is that they are chasing the dream body and they want it now.

This is an issue with the human psyche,

None of us want to wait for anything anymore

We live in an instant world, everything from information to food delivery is at our fingertips.

Which has caused a lack of patience.

When it comes to getting in shape, there are two options.

1 - Go all in, balls to the wall, make amazing progress in 1 week, then burn out and quit

Or…

2 - Take a suitable, tailored approach, making 1 or 2 habitual changes daily, being patient and reaping the rewards later on.

I know which one I would choose… And the one I choose is also the one I recommend and coach.

Turn ‘being in good health’ into a lifestyle.

✅ Include a manageable amount of exercise,
✅ Have a more wholesome diet

BUT,
✅ Still allow time for yourself
✅ Still eat foods you enjoy

This way we build habits for life, and you’ll never have to ‘diet and fail’ again!

You can gather all the information in the world
You can read every fitness publication out there…

But without putting this info into practice
Results will be non-existent.

“I’m waiting for the right time”

But if you wait for the perfect time, you will never start!

Fitness is a journey, and you need to learn to love the process.

If you change everything all at once, you’re likely going to build a poor relationship with nutrition and exercise

And this will see you fail 👎🏻

What you want to achieve, is up to you.

Don’t let anyone else decide on what is going to make you happy.

At the end of the day, the hard work you put in, is going to benefit you and no one else - so make sure your hard work is going to make you happy!

Social media is a sh*tty place, it gives you a false sense of what is healthy.

I’ll give you a clue, healthy is not 0% body fat with 8 perfectly chiseled abs…

For the majority of people, that is unrealistic and unattainable.

Your level of health, is completely your prerogative

How far do you want to take it?

Are you driven to have the best body possible?

Or would you prefer to be in a bit better shape, whilst still enjoying the foods you eat, and have room for a beer at the weekend?

Don’t let anyone dictate your goals or happiness.

If you’re a beginner, anything is better than nothing!

Attainability and adherence is the number one way to make lasting changes,

But flipping your whole regime all at once, is the fastest way to fall off the wagon.

Consistency is the secret ingredient to success,

And you stay consistent when your lifestyle is attainable.
