This week, Miss Evans and Miss Dunworth had the pleasure of attending the Manchester Healthy Schools Excellence Awards at East Manchester Academy on behalf of Old Moat Primary.

Whilst there were a range of award categories recognising schools, teams and individual members of staff from across Manchester, this recognition was particularly special. Old Moat Primary was nominated by the screening team who deliver our annual flu vaccinations and height and weight checks. To be recognised by professionals who work alongside our staff and children each year made the award incredibly meaningful.

The event was also a wonderful reminder of the vital role the Healthy Schools team plays in supporting children, families and communities across Manchester. From promoting healthy lifestyles and emotional wellbeing to delivering important health interventions and screenings, their work helps ensure that children have the best possible opportunities to thrive, both in and out of school. Their dedication to improving outcomes for young people has a lasting impact on the health and wellbeing of our wider community.

The Healthy Schools team recognised Old Moat Primary for its ongoing support, organisation, professionalism and commitment to ensuring every visit is a positive experience for pupils and staff. Their kind words highlighted the welcoming approach of our teachers and teaching assistants and the strong partnership that has been built over many years.

Miss Evans and Miss Dunworth were delighted to accept the award on behalf of the entire Old Moat team, whose hard work, care and commitment make achievements like this possible.

A huge thank you to the Healthy Schools team for all they do for children and families across Manchester, and congratulations to everyone at Old Moat Primary for this fantastic recognition.
