Water Safety

With temperatures rising, we ask all parents to remind their children about the dangers of entering open water. Reservoirs, rivers and canals may appear inviting, but they pose significant risks including cold water shock, sudden drops in depth and unseen debris.

The Float to Live campaign teaches a simple but life-saving message: if you find yourself struggling in the water, float on your back, stay calm, and call for help when you can. By sharing this important safety information with pupils, parents and carers, we can help raise awareness and give more people the knowledge and confidence to stay safe around water. Every share helps spread a message that could one day save a life.

GMFRS Know the dangers of swimming in open water and how to stay safe near water.

Year 1 enjoyed a lovely summers day in Blackpool. We went to the circus and enjoyed a play on the beach. All the children were amazed at the show and enjoyed our mini beach races. What a lovely way to end our final trip in Year 1! We hope the children had as much fun as we did.
