Congratulations and huge thanks to everyone who participated in our Play in a Day workshop yesterday! What a day we had :)

Who could have predicted that the group would create a totally original city called Mushroomtropolis? Or that they'd write and stage a mystery about the theft of the rare golden mushroom (worth infinite KFC Family Buckets)? Or that half the town would turn out to work for the secret organisation, UMFLOOR?!

Certainly not me.

But when I say we're going to base the whole day on whatever ideas the group bring to the table- that's what I mean. An adult could never come up with this stuff...

If you'd like your child to join us next time like the page to stay in the loop :)

Hello! This is Tommy () , our Head Playmaker in London πŸ‘‹

Tommy's been leading Troupers clubs since 2016 and totally embodies what a Troupers facilitator is: fun, encouraging, kind and always willing to be the silliest person in the room! πŸ•ΊπŸ»

He's also a working professional actor 🎭 who has toured nationally and internationally 🌍 with shows including Mr Poppers Penguins 🐧 , Alice's Adventures in Wonderland 🎩 , and Raymond Brigg's, The Bear 🐻

Oh, and his favourite game is buzzy bees 🐝 (Just in case you were wondering πŸ€— )

If you wish Tommy ran the drama club at your kid's school get in touch and we'll see what we can do πŸ₯°

I love this quote, because it sums up exactly why we started Troupers drama clubs way back in 2008πŸŽ‰ : to provide a safe space for children to practice being whoever (or whatever πŸ€–!) they feel like being! Because the more they practice this now, they better they will be at it as they grow up. And what better skill is there than that of being exactly who you want to be? Thanks Mr Rogers πŸ˜ƒ

Congratulations to Troupers legend and regular club leader Shane David Joseph for landing a part in the West End revival of 'Jerusalem', "The greatest British play of the century" (The Telegraph)!πŸŽ‰

Shane will be working alongside Oscar winner, Mark Rylance, whose creative philosophy is all about saying 'YES' to each and every moment. We are sure Shane will feel right at home 😎

Good luck Shane, we're super proud of you and can't wait to see you rocking out on the West End stage (again!) ❀️ 🎭 ❀️

Hi everyone I'm Jim, nice to meet you πŸ‘‹

I'm the co-founder and director of Troupers, which has been cracking open imaginations since 2008. As a children's theatre director and facilitator I love nothing more than helping children (and child-like adult actors!) unleash their inner silliness and explore the outer limits of their creativity πŸš€

I set up Troupers while I was training as an actor at the Bristol Old Vic Theatre School and didn't want to work at Yorkshire bank over my Easter Holidays. But what started as a way to avoid data entry (πŸ΄β€β˜ οΈ ) evolved into a major passion (πŸ•ΊπŸ») and Troupers has been helping kids bring their wildest ideas to life ever since

When your children come to Troupers they will play the best improvisation and theatre games πŸ₯³, create characters, stories, scenes and whole new worlds together- and have laugh doing it!

There's no better way to make new friends and to learn to be kinder to yourself than by sharing and accepting ideas in an encouraging and open environmentπŸ₯°. And that's what I - and all Troupers facilitators- are dedicated to creating every time we step into the teaching room.

Give me a wave or drop me a comment if you like what we're doing πŸ˜€
