Will I get dividends if I buy on the ex-date? 📊
If you purchase a stock on its ex-dividend date or after, you will not receive the upcoming dividend payment. Instead, the seller gets the dividend. If you purchase before the ex-dividend date and hold the stock at market opening on the ex-dividend day, you get the dividend.
What is a good dividend yield? 📉
Your investing goals and risk appetite should play big roles in deciding what’s a good dividend yield for you. Yields from 2% to 6% are generally considered to be a good dividend yield, but there are plenty of factors to consider when deciding if a stock's yield makes it a good investment. 📈

Budgeting shouldn’t be stressful or restrictive. A great idea is to talk about your money at least once a month with your partner.
Budgeting is more about knowing where you are spending your money and sticking it into different pots that help you get better control of your financial situation!
Your own budgets will likely differ as your personal situation and stage of life will mean your budget needs to be tailored to meet your needs.
In this example I’ve gone for:
1. £1,750 a month goes towards essential BILLS
2. £250 a month goes into personal SAVINGS and INVESTMENTS
3. £500 a month goes on YOURSELF
The most important thing is to try to reduce your essential bill.
This is the 70%.
If you can reduce this then increase the 10% and move more into your savings and investments.
£500 personal spending budget is there to stop this from being super restrictive – You have to live a little.

You've just got to start and let the magic of compound interest kick in.
If you don't know where to start comment "INVEST" and I'll share my investing cheat sheet to help you get started.
First, like so I know that you would like me to make more content like this
I have used data from Hargreaves Lansdown about the Vanguard FTSE All World High Dividend Yield ETF (Distributing) Ticker - VHYL.
💰 In this reel you can see the top 10 holdings of the VHYL which account for just under 12% the weighting the ETF. VHYL is made up of 2278 stocks so the top 10 account for a reasonably high proportion of the whole ETF.
🔑 You may recognize some of these companies.
🌱 VHYL was started in May 2013 and pays a dividend quarterly in March, June, September and December. Current annual dividend is 2.68% If you had invested £10,000 10 years ago it would be worth about £18,100 today. This doesn’t include dividend reinvesting.
👨💼 Truth is, nobody can predict how well the markets will perform over the upcoming decades, but diversification may help smooth out some of the volatility. For example, in bad times, your returns could be less bad, but in good times, your returns might also be a bit worse.
Would or do you invest in VHYL?
