I’ve struggled to post and be present online lately and that’s not because I haven’t been working. There’s lots of things happening that I can’t wait to share with you. The best thing being on the 12th July so keep your diaries open.
A few weeks ago our Poppy decided the stuffing from her bed was tasty and ended up needing surgery to remove it from her gut. Being a lurcher, her body shape made the surgery a little tricky so this and her previous complicated history of gastric issues meant that her recovery was not as smooth as we hoped. She had pancreatitis, free fluid in her abdomen, and only a small selection of foods we could use to tempt her to start eating again.
She is on the mend now and getting back to her usual self but she’s taken up a lot of our time and energy, not to mention money. She is insured but she was in ICU for nearly a week so her vet bills surpassed the insurance limit pretty quickly. She’s worth every penny though and we’re so grateful to everyone who took care of her.
Now that’s she’s getting better, I can start to focus on F&D again. So stay tuned for updates and let me know what you’d like to hear from me!
Thank you for your patience 💕🐶

A few years ago I would have said you could find me on Etsy, or just say hi in my DMs. Don’t get me wrong, I’m still there. You’re always welcome to message me!
But… over the past year I’ve been trying to have more confidence in myself and my work. I’m putting myself out there more and trying to reach out to at least one collaboration each month. Either to work with them, create something for them, or attend one of their markets. It’s scary but I’m growing, and I’m excited to see where it takes me.
If you’d like to work with me please reach out. I’d love to collab!!
Prompt 12: Where to find me…

I am obsessed with how this set up turned out last weekend. The sun poured in through stained glass windows and the disco ball scattered its light all over the rest of the stall 🥹 To quote a message from a fellow macrame artist… it was a spring dream 🌸🪩

One of my most frequently asked questions when showing someone my work is “How long did that take?” So let’s break it down. For a piece this size (almost 5,000 knots) it took:
- 3 hours to design the pattern
- 1 hour to calculate and order the amount of cord needed
- 3-5 days for the cord to be delivered
- 2 hours to measure, cut and hang cord
- 65 hours of knotting
- Half an hour of trimming and finishing touches
That’s about two to three weeks of your typical 9-5 job… and don’t forget, this is not my 9-5 job. I do this in the evenings, on weekends, sometimes on my lunch break. Three weeks could very easily turn into three months, but know this - I love every second of it.

I’m back in Leigh this weekend!
It’s going to be a full Fox family event with my Dad also being there with his model railway, and my Mum as always with me on the F&D stall.
There’s something for everyone so come and say hello 🥰

When I commit to something, I don’t like to see it unfinished. It might take me longer than expected to get round to it but it gets done eventually.
The eagle eyed amongst you may have noticed I still have three posts left of the March Meet the Maker Challenge, and how ironic that the next prompt is “Revisit”! Is it too much of a cop out to just say I’m revisiting the challenge…?
I promise you, this was not planned, but to sweeten the deal I’ve used an old photo of one of my earliest pieces - so I’m revisiting that too!
Prompt 11: Revisit

is one of the only cord brands I’ll use for my work, not just because of the quality but also because of how their rope is made.
The cotton they use is all recovered material from factory production waste or used clothing. The textiles are shredded into a dust and mixed to create the right colours. There are no dyes used at all. The fibres are then spun into a thread and this is what’s used to create their cord.
Prompt 10: How it’s made

Today I want to talk about a little thing called imposter syndrome.
When reached out to commission a wall hanging from little old me, I did not feel worthy.
I have little crafting sessions from my living room floor. I make bits and bobs for friends and family because I’d rather create gifts than buy them. I learnt macrame from a YouTube video 6 years ago. There are actual artists out there way better than me… and yet, I’m one of them?
A complete stranger has sought out my work, contacted me and eagerly parted with their hard earned money for a custom piece of art… from ME.
Wild.
I’m forever grateful to those ladies for reaching out and believing in me, and every time I see it pop up on their socials I get this reminder that imposter syndrome can get in the bin. Because I am worthy.
Prompt 9: Challenges and wins

When I say I take custom requests, I really do mean it. This was actually a wedding gift for a friend of mine but it’s also a great example of how personalised a piece can be.
The shoe was actually from the where we’d been for a day out, not long before the wedding, and the starfish charm was saved from their wedding invite. To some, it might just look like another wall hanging but my favourite part of creating this was all the subtle personal touches.
