โ˜€๏ธ On Thursday the Springboard Project Holiday club make great use of the fantastic Bank Holiday week weather and the wonderful countryside on our doorstep, by mountain biking along the river Mersey in stockport, and later that afternoon, after a home made lunch, they cooled off and in the river, by developing their kayaking skills, and the highlight being staff member Chloe, falling in and getting drenched. โ˜€๏ธ

๐ŸŒฟโ˜€๏ธ A Fantastic Day Out in New Mills! โ˜€๏ธ๐ŸŒฟ

โญ๏ธ We recently took our students on a lovely trip to New Mills to visit the stunning Millennium Walkway and what a day it was! โญ๏ธ

The views were absolutely breathtaking. As we explored, we were surrounded by beautiful greenery, flowing waterfalls and the remains of old mills, giving the students a real sense of the areaโ€™s rich history and natural beauty. The Millennium Walkway itself sits within a dramatic gorge where rivers meet and mills once operated for many years.

๐ŸšถAfter plenty of walking and taking in the scenery, the students enjoyed a well-earned stop at New Mills Bike Park. It was great to see them relax, have a play, and recharge their energy. ๐Ÿšถโ€โ™€๏ธ

โ˜€๏ธ We then finished the trip with lunch in the sunshine โ€” a perfect end to a brilliant day out! โ˜€๏ธ๐Ÿด

Trips like this are a fantastic way for our students to build confidence, enjoy new experiences, and spend time outdoors together. Weโ€™re really proud of how well they represented the school throughout the day!

๐ŸŒŸ Holiday Club Highlights โ€“ Tuesday Fun! ๐ŸŒŸ
What a fantastic day we had at Holiday Club yesterday, packed full of creativity, teamwork, and some seriously impressive cooking skills! ๐Ÿ‘ฉโ€๐Ÿณ๐Ÿ‘จโ€๐Ÿณ

Our students took on a range of cooking and baking challenges, and we couldnโ€™t be prouder of their effort and enthusiasm:

๐Ÿฅญ One student focused on healthy eating, creating a delicious mango and date salad โ€“ a great mix of fresh flavours and a brilliant example of making nutritious choices.

๐Ÿง Another student got baking, producing some beautiful vanilla cupcakes topped with buttercream frosting โ€“ they looked amazing and tasted even better!

๐ŸŒถ๏ธ And finally, we had a bit of friendly competition in the kitchenโ€ฆ one student went head-to-head with our Healthy Living Teacher, making their own chilli recipe. After some serious taste-testing, weโ€™re pleased to say the student was crowned the winner โ€“ thanks to great flavour (and a wise decision to use fewer black beans! ๐Ÿ˜‚).

Itโ€™s been lovely to see our students building confidence, trying new skills, and enjoying time together in such a positive way.
Weโ€™re already looking forward to the next session! ๐Ÿ˜Š

Our Duke of Edinburgh students had an amazing time out on the course trying something a little different โ€” Footgolf! ๐Ÿ™Œ

Combining football skills with the challenge of golf, the day was full of great kicks, teamwork, and lots of laughter along the way. ๐ŸŒŸ

From impressive long shots to plenty of memorable moments with friends, everyone got stuck in and gave it their all. ๐Ÿ’ช
๐Ÿ‘ A huge well done to our DofE students for their enthusiasm and positive attitude โ€” itโ€™s fantastic to see you embracing new experiences and having so much fun!

Congratulations to a young pupil who has successfully reintegrated back into school.๐ŸŽ‰

This is a fantastic achievement and reflects the pupilโ€™s resilience, commitment, and positive engagement throughout the process. The pupil has been supported through an adapted curriculum pathway, specifically designed to facilitate a smooth and gradual transition back into mainstream education.

This tailored approach has focused on identifying and addressing individual barriers to accessing school, whether they be emotional, social, or academic. Through targeted support, structured routines, and personalised learning opportunities, the pupil has been able to rebuild confidence, re-establish positive relationships, and develop the skills needed to engage successfully in a school environment.

The success of this reintegration highlights the importance of collaborative working between staff, the pupil, and their support network. It also demonstrates the effectiveness of a flexible, pupil-centred approach that prioritises wellbeing alongside academic progress.

This is a significant milestone, and we look forward to seeing the pupil continue to thrive in their educational journey.๐ŸŽ‰

๐Ÿ“ธ Level 2 Sports โ€“ This Termโ€™s Highlights! ๐Ÿ’ช๐Ÿง

This term, our Level 2 Sports students have been working incredibly hard developing both their physical and mental performance skills.
๐Ÿ”น Strength & Conditioning Training
Students have explored a range of training methods designed to improve fitness, strength, and overall athletic performance. From resistance training to circuit sessions, theyโ€™ve gained hands-on experience and a deeper understanding of how to train effectively and safely.

๐Ÿ”น Psychology for Sports Performance
Alongside physical training, students have also been learning about the importance of mindset in sport. Theyโ€™ve looked at key psychological factors such as motivation, confidence, goal setting, and how mental preparation can impact performance.

Itโ€™s been fantastic to see students applying their knowledge in practical sessions and building confidence both in and out of the learning environment. ๐Ÿ‘

๐Ÿ‘ Community Spirit in Action! ๐Ÿ‘

We are incredibly proud of our amazing students, who have been busy collecting donations for our local food bank. Their generosity and commitment to helping others have been truly inspiring, showing just how much of a difference small acts of kindness can make.

Today, we were delighted to welcome Bob from Hollins Methodist Church who came to collect our donations for the Food Pantry they run each week for people in the local community.

A huge thank you to everyone who contributed โ€” whether by donating items or helping to organise the collection. Together, we are helping to support those in need within our local area โค๏ธ
