Every year I make up a goodie bag for all the staff to start the school year. With budgets being so so tight I wondered if anyone knows of any businesses that would be willing to donate anything. We usually have a sweet treat, a tea/coffee sachet and something nice as a treat. Any help would be very much appreciated. Mrs. M

Some parents have been asking us to update our wish list. Amazon is the easiest way to do this, but I believe you can order from elsewhere if found cheaper and then mark as bought elsewhere. We would be very grateful for anything on our list to help us make memorable experiences.
We are delighted that Neville passed his test and is our new school dog. Welcome to the SJSB family!

On Friday we said goodbye to Mrs. Teasdale. We thank her for her hard work at SJSB and wish her all the best in her next role.
We can’t wait to see our egg hunters tomorrow!
When you arrive find the person with the clipboard to tick your name off the list then hunters can decorate and make their own Easter basket ready for the hunt.
The eggs are hidden in ‘nests’ so to earn your chocolate treat you need to find 5 different coloured eggs (only take 1 from the nests you find then move on to find your next coloured egg so there’s lots of eggs left for others still to find).
Once you have your 5 different coloured eggs come and see us at the cabin to exchange your eggs for an Easter egg!
Then it’s time to try your hand at fire lighting, marshmallow toasting and to enjoy the secret garden!
Please wrap up warm but bunny ears are encouraged!
We will have hot drinks to warm you up and some sweet treats on hand in exchange for a donation so please bring some spare change if you can.
The lovely Jess at The Secret Garden will also have a tombola so please support this worthy cause if you can!

We are delighted to be able to share our recent Catholic School Inspection Report with our wider community.
We are thrilled that the inspectors saw that our school is 'Outstanding' in all areas. We are privileged to share something that we get to see each and every day.
Today we heard the sad news that Mrs. McGrail passed away last night in her sleep.
Mrs. McGrail was such a huge part of St. Joseph and St. Bede. She championed us long after she stopped being a governor.
Mrs. McGrail taught at SJSB and then she became a governor and latterly chair of governors, devoting many hours to our school. After she finished being a governor she would still attend Mass in school and would always ring to say how the children had read and behaved.
On a personal note Mrs. McGrail taught me at Guardian Angels and then was part of the team who gave me my first teaching job at SJSB. She then pushed me hard, to be the best I could be (as she had done at school) and I became Assistant Headteacher, then Deputy Headteacher and finally she made sure I was put through my paces to become Headteacher.
We will always hold her dearly in our hearts and will continue to strive to give our children THE BEST education, as was her vision.
Rest in peace Mrs. McGrail.
