**Reminder** - Even though you are only stopping for a short while we need to make sure that we do not block residents driveways when dropping your child off at school. The residents are part of our school community and they are often leaving for work or dropping their own children or grandchildren off at our busy periods. Also, Please do not park on the zig zag lines outside school, they are here to make it as safe as possible for children entering the school. The Secondary 2024 application round has opened to Manchester City Council residents

This is for children whose date of birth falls between 01/09/2012 - 31/08/2013.

Parents can make their online application through the portal on the Council's website: https://parentportal.manchester.gov.uk/web/portal/pages/home

School Admissions has written to Manchester City Council residents and invited them to apply online. In line with the School Admissions Code, parents must apply through their home local authority. Any children who attends our year 5 but resides in another local authority, these children will be contacted by their local authority to inform them of when and how to apply through their LA. (Other LAs may have a different opening date to Manchester).

Parents can apply for any school they wish, but they must list all the schools they intend to apply for on their home LA application. Parents are also encouraged to read school's admission policies first before applying. Some schools require a supplementary form to be completed in addition to their main application. For state Grammar schools (e.g. Sale Grammar, Stretford Grammar, St Ambrose College etc) parents need to list the school on the application form, but they must also contact the school to enrol their child for the 11+ entrance exam.

The national closing date for Secondary 2024 applications is 31 October 2023.

National Offer Day will be 1 March 2024 for on-time applicants.

Late applicants will find out their school offer at a later date.

Students with an EHCP - These children will be sent information separately by the SEN Team and how to apply. Any parent needing assistance from this service can email: [email protected]

23/06/2023

We need your help!

The school has a section of land on Dalbeattie street that has been surrounded by a blue fence. We are currently trying to save money to develop this land for the children in our school. Unfortunately, there have been several instances of people getting into this area by damaging the fence. Each time this happens we need to repair the fence which is costing the shcool money. If you see anyone doing this to our school then please could you report this to the police. We want the very best for our children and do not want to be spending money reparing fences which could be going towards the children. Many thanks.

23/06/2023

The School Council met today to talk about transition. We took a vote from each class to find out how the children are feeling about moving to their new classes in September.
The School Council children shared their ideas about ways to support each Key Stage in making transition an exciting and happy time for the children.
Is there anything that you think the School Council could discuss or help with? Please let your child's class teacher know.

‘Some of Year 6 have been working on money and sticking to a budget. We were given a budget to buy new books for school and had to work out the best way to spend it. We considered special offers, a good range of genres and which books would be age appropriate. Hopefully our hard work will mean that we see some of these books in school soon.’
