This week, the children have been strengthening their fine motor skills through threading activities, supporting early writing development. โœ๏ธ
They explored their feelings about starting school by creating Colour Monsters and designing their own school logos. ๐ŸŽจ

Outdoors, the children used their imaginations as builders and artists, constructing with blocks and drawing animals on the chalkboards. ๐Ÿ—๏ธ๐Ÿฆ During Forest School, they enjoyed a letter hunt to practise recognition skills and incorporated maths into play by counting blocks while building towers. ๐ŸŒณ๐Ÿ”ค๐Ÿ”ข

Role-play activities encouraged the children to take pretend phone calls, helping to develop their communication and social skills. โ˜Ž๏ธ๐Ÿ˜Š

We are so proud of all the learning, creativity and confidence the children have shown this
week as they continue their journey towards school readiness! ๐Ÿ’›

What a busy and exciting week we have had at nursery! ๐ŸŒฟ๐Ÿ
This week we have been exploring our beautiful garden and developing our balancing skills by completing an obstacle course. The children showed amazing turn-taking skills and had lots of fun in the sand creating delicious โ€œice creamsโ€ and โ€œcakesโ€! ๐Ÿฆ๐ŸŽ‚

We also enjoyed celebrating National Bee Day and learning all about how important bees are and how we can help keep them safe. ๐Ÿ The children collected petals to create homes for the bees and worked on their fine motor skills by using tweezers to pick up pollen balls and feed the bees in our tuff tray activity.

At Forest School, we had a lovely nature walk where we collected pine cones, stopped by the train tracks to watch the trains go by and listened carefully to the different sounds they made. We also visited the pond where we spotted fish and checked on our tadpoles. ๐Ÿธ๐Ÿš‚

To finish our session, we got creative making bees using string and pine cones, used pegs to pick up leaves, and some of us even climbed trees and pretended to be sloths hanging upside down! ๐ŸŒณโœจ

What a fantastic week full of learning, exploring, and fun!

This week, we have had lots of fun learning about healthy and unhealthy foods. The children enjoyed sorting different foods and discussing how healthy foods help our bodies grow strong and stay healthy. ๐ŸŽ๐Ÿฅ•๐ŸŒ

At Forest School, we explored nature by creating leaf and bark rubbings and making different sounds using sticks. The children loved forming their very own Forest School band and singing lots of songs together! ๐ŸŽถ๐Ÿƒ

We also visited the tadpoles in the pond and were very excited to discover 3 newts! ๐Ÿธโœจ
Alongside all of our adventures, we have been practising our numbers by arranging the large log numbers into the correct order and working hard on writing the first letters of our names. ๐Ÿ”ขโœ๏ธ

We are so proud of all the children and the enthusiasm they bring to their learning every day! ๐Ÿ’š

What a busy and fantastic week weโ€™ve had! ๐ŸŒŸ

This week, we explored St Georgeโ€™s Day by creating our own red and white flags. At Forest School, the children got creative using trees to make music, climbed high for bird watching, and celebrated Earth Day by litter picking and learning how to care for our planet ๐ŸŒ

Our Earth Day activities continued with a special โ€œcleaning under the seaโ€ task, helping us understand how to keep our oceans safe. The children also had lots of fun decorating their own planets and experimenting with patterns using car tyres and paint ๐ŸŽจ

Following our theme โ€˜The Sky is the Limit,โ€™ one child showed an interest in trainsโ€”so we brought that idea to life by painting our very own trains! ๐Ÿš‚

There was plenty of excitement in the garden too, with a fantastic football game where the children loved playing together and scoring goals โšฝ

We also explored different types of weather, drawing them and discussing how each one makes us feel. In maths, the children enjoyed creating shapes and completing animal puzzles, while in literacy they showed a wonderful enthusiasm for stories, sharing lots of reading together ๐Ÿ“š

We are so proud of all their creativity, curiosity, and teamwork this weekโ€”well done everyone! ๐Ÿ’ซ

โœจ The Sky is the Limit! โœจ

What a fun and exciting week weโ€™ve had at nursery as we began exploring our new theme, The Sky is the Limit! โ˜๏ธ๐ŸŒˆ

We enjoyed reading the story of The Rainbow Fish, where we discovered all the beautiful colours of the rainbow and talked about the importance of sharing and being kind to others ๐Ÿ’–๐ŸŒˆ๐Ÿ
The children also created their own night skies, learning why we need sleep and how it helps our bodies grow and stay healthy ๐ŸŒ™โญ

Our adventures continued outside at Forest School, where we used telescopes to explore how colours can change and got creative by making our own crowns using natural resources ๐Ÿ‘‘๐Ÿƒ
In the garden, we had so much fun blowing bubbles, exploring bugs and insects, making finger puppets, and building exciting race tracks with large wooden bricks ๐Ÿž๐Ÿซง๐Ÿš—

Weโ€™ve also planted strawberry seeds and green beans, and weโ€™re very excited to watch how they grow over the next few weeks ๐Ÿ“๐ŸŒฑ

And to top it all offโ€ฆ Daisy the hamster even came out to play! ๐Ÿน๐Ÿ’•

What a wonderful week of learning, creativity, and outdoor fun!

This week at nursery the children have thoroughly enjoyed water play, experimenting with hoops to create bubbles and exploring which boats float. Itโ€™s been wonderful to see their curiosity and excitement in action!

Weโ€™ve also begun our new theme, โ€œThe Sky is the Limit,โ€ where the children take the lead in their learning. One child chose to learn all about bats, so we watched a video and had a great discussionโ€”there were lots of interesting ideas and questions shared!

Out in the garden, the children loved drawing shapes, proudly showing off their fantastic knowledge. With the sunny weather, we made the most of it by going on a bug huntโ€”using magnifying glasses and our best detective skills to discover all sorts of tiny creatures ๐Ÿž๐Ÿ”

Creativity has been flowing too, as we painted a space-themed background using different techniques to create a beautiful galaxy. The children also impressed us with their independence while completing witches and wizards puzzles all by themselvesโ€”such amazing focus and determination!

We are so proud of everything the children have achieved this week. We canโ€™t wait to see what next week brings! ๐ŸŒŸ
