🌈 Exploring our feelings with The Colour Monster! 💛💙❤️💚🩷

We have been learning that feelings come in all different colours - happy, sad, angry, calm and loved. 🥰

Through stories, play and lots of colourful fun, we’re learning to recognise our emotions and understand that every feeling is okay. 💕

Today at Evergreen Home Ed, we reused cardboard for a junk box modelling session! 📦✨
The children started by playing with the boxes while they discussed their ideas. Then, they set to work making a luxury hotel for the animals in our forest! Of course, our frog pond was an important feature! 🐸
It is amazing to watch the real learning that happens through open-ended play- from abstract thinking and architectural design to teamwork and problem solving. Nature and cardboard really are the ultimate learning tools. ❤️

Our mud kitchen is where little imaginations come to life. From stirring and mashing to peeling petals and creating “cupcakes”, children are busy exploring, experimenting and creating.

And the best part? There’s no right or wrong recipe -
just lots of messy, joyful learning! 🤎

🌿 This morning Evergreen Explorers CIC and Kids Get Crafty celebrated Father’s Day with nature crafts, sensory play and campfire cooking. 🔥

🪨 We made ‘You Rock’ cards.

🌈 Crafted smiley rainbows.

🐶 Made dog logs.

🧊 Melted blocks of ice.

🌙 Played with moon sand.

🥐 Cooked croissants, waffles and pain au chocolat on the campfire.

💚 A wonderful morning of creativity, exploration and making special memories together.

🌿 Looking for a nature-based preschool where children can enjoy a free and adventurous childhood?

Little Muddy Me Pre-School, Maidenhead, has a limited number of spaces available from September for children aged 2–4 years.

Set in a beautiful woodland beside Bray Lake in Maidenhead, our children learn, play, explore, and grow through outdoor experiences in a nurturing environment.

🕘 Session times:
• Half day: 9:00am–12:00pm or 12:00pm–3:00pm
• Full day: 9:00am–3:00pm
• Wraparound care: 8:30am–3:30pm

This morning we gathered at Little Muddy Me for a wonderful stay and play session, delivered in collaboration between Kids Get Crafty and Evergreen Explorers Forest School! 🍃🌿

Our theme was leaves and sticks, and the children enjoyed leaf painting, making their own rhythm sticks, and creating beautiful pine cone flowers. There was also plenty of time for free play and exploration in the forest.

Around the campfire, we cooked hot dogs and toasted s’mores before finishing the session with a stick and leaf-themed music circle and a reading of Tap the Magic Tree📚✨

It was a lovely morning filled with creativity, nature, learning, and outdoor adventure. Thank you to everyone who joined us!
