Just heard from a few people that Mr Wagstaff has passed away.😢
This is the piece from the Formby Bubble.

“It is with great sadness that the family of Robert “Bob” Wagstaff have announced his peaceful passing on Thursday 30 April.
Bob was a much loved member of the Formby community and will be fondly remembered by many for his years as a teacher at Maghull High School, where he made a lasting impact on generations of pupils.
He was deeply loved by his family and friends and will be greatly missed by all who knew him.
A memorial service will take place at St Luke’s Church on Wednesday 20 May at 11am.
A service will also be held at Southport Crematorium at 10am.”

Thanks to Keith Richardson who has magically enhanced the photo. Can anyone add names.

Some sad news😢from Ex pupil Pat Bodsworth.

“RIP Gordon Roberts ...Art Teacher
For those of you who attended MGS in the 60's and 70's, you will remember Gordon Roberts...a fabulous art teacher and our form teacher for our last few years at school.
Gordon Gedling, a fellow pupil, heard yesterday 13th Jan, from Ann his wife, that Gordon had sadly passed.
He was with all his family, in no pain and died peacefully.
Several of our years students had kept in touch with him since leaving school and "Sir" had attended many of the class reunions we have had together both in Maghull and Southport.
For those of you who do remember this lovely man...raise a glass to him this Saturday 17th Jan ...it would have been his 98th birthday ❤️
"Rest in peace Sir"

ex pupil Pat Bodsworth
