AFTER SCHOOL CLUB LEADER

🌿 Part-Time Position
Minimum 16 hours per week
✨ Additional hours available within the nursery

We’re looking for a fun, caring and enthusiastic person to lead our After School Club and become part of our Little Stars family.

🌱 Ideally, you will:

• Hold a Level 3 Childcare qualification
• Have a Playwork qualification or relevant experience
• Genuinely love working with children
• Be confident planning fun and engaging activities
• Be caring, patient and reliable
• Be able to take responsibility and use your initiative
• Bring lots of energy, ideas and positivity!

🤎 What matters most to us…

We want someone who really enjoys being with children — someone who will get involved, have fun, build positive relationships and make our After School Club somewhere children are excited to come to.

There is also the opportunity to work additional hours within our nursery, with flexibility for the right person.

One week on… ✨

I’ve spent this past week reflecting on what was one of the most special and emotional days we’ve ever shared at Little Stars.

Watching our Class of 2026 celebrate such a huge milestone filled me with so much pride. Seeing their smiles, confidence, friendships and excitement reminded us exactly why we do what we do.

Reading all of your beautiful posts and messages over the past week has honestly been overwhelming. Every kind word, every photo and every thank you has meant more than you’ll ever know. Seeing your children celebrated with such love at home has been incredibly special for all of us.

It has been an absolute privilege to be part of each child’s journey. From their very first days with us to watching them walk across the stage in their graduation gowns, we’ve laughed together, learned together, celebrated milestones together and watched them grow into confident, kind and capable little people.

On behalf of every single member of staff, thank you for trusting us with your amazing children. Thank you for allowing us to be part of their story.

Although we’re so excited to see them begin their next adventure at school, there will always be a little sadness as we say goodbye. We truly will miss each and every one of our Little Stars.🌟

🌿 Nature is our classroom. 🌿

Today, our Woodland Garden became a space for curiosity, creativity and discovery as the children explored our nature loops using flowers, leaves, herbs, wooden discs and other natural treasures.

This simple invitation to play supports so many areas of learning:
🍃 Fine Motor Skills – carefully placing and arranging natural materials.
🧠 Cognitive Development – sorting, comparing, creating patterns and making choices.
💬 Language & Communication – talking about colours, textures, shapes and what they have found.
🎨 Expressive Arts – designing beautiful transient art that can be changed and recreated again and again.
🌍 Knowledge of the World – building a connection with nature through hands-on exploration.

At Little Stars, we believe children learn best through meaningful, open-ended experiences. Our Woodland Garden encourages them to slow down, observe, create and develop a lifelong appreciation for the natural world—one leaf, flower and stick at a time. 💚

Some people deserve a post all of their own… ❤️

Now that we’ve had a chance to reflect on such a magical graduation, I wanted to take a moment to celebrate someone truly special.

A huge, heartfelt thank you to Sharon Kehoe, who has spent months lovingly hand-knitting every single graduation bear for our Class of 2026.

Every stitch, every tiny detail and every little graduation hat was made with so much love and care. These weren’t just gifts—they were keepsakes, created by hand, that our children can treasure for years to come.

In a world where so much can be bought, Sharon gave our children something that simply can’t be purchased… her time, kindness and incredible talent. That means more than words can ever say.

Seeing each child proudly collect their bear on graduation day made all those months of hard work worthwhile, and I know these little bears will always remind our families of their time at Little Stars.

From all of us—our children, families and staff—thank you, Sharon, for helping make our graduation so incredibly special. We will never forget what you’ve done for our little stars. ⭐🧸💚
