Dear parents, carers and families,

It is with a heavy heart that the governors and I have decided to close Madeley Nursery School on Thursday 25th June due to the weather conditions. We are also encouraging ypu to consider collecting your children early or remaining home if you are able today and Friday. Please let us know in the usual way if you are remaining home.

The governors and I appreciate how challenging this can be and we apologise for the inconvenience caused. However, our priority is always the safety and welfare of children. Stay safe on the sun and we'll see you soon.

Dear families, with the red warning for high temperature and humidity now in effect, many of you have been reasonably asking if we will close. At present, there are no plans to close but this will be kept under daily review. If you would prefer to keep your children at home through this period of high heat, you are welcome to do so. Please ring into the office and notify us of your child's absence. Thank you all for your support and understanding and helping us to stay safe in the sun.

The cherry blossom tree in the front garden has been a place and feature of interest for our community over the past couple of weeks. It really has been glorious in its display of colour. Groups of children have worked alongside the tree, developing drawings and use of colour. We have also been sharing a book, 'The Something'. In this story, there is a hole beside a cherry blossom tree in a young boys garden. What could be down the hole? There have been ideas galore shared.

I am delighted to announce that we have met our funding target with your kindness and generosity! This means we will soon have high quality audio literature to improve the rest time experience for children in every nest. On behalf of the whole nursery team, I say a big thank you to you all for helping us to improve this important aspect of the nursery day for our children.

We are looking forward to welcoming children and families tomorrow, Tuesday 14th April 2026, for the summer term at Madeley Nursery School.

The cherry blossom tree is looking so beautiful. There are smaller fruit trees blossoming too. Take a look and enjoy noticing them over the coming days and weeks.
