Hello there page-likers! I hope you're well and enjoying the May sunshine. I am soaking it in, albeit through a generous layer of sun cream, as I burn faster than a sausage on a barbie.
I'm currently immersed in my Level 3 Forest School Leadership training and loving every minute (okay, maybe not all the paperwork I'm wading through today, but the rest of it for sure!)
My amazing branding photographer Folk and Tale took this gorgeous snap of me and my son on a walk in Macclesfield Forest, to show I how I look when out and about in all my gear 🧑‍🌾
A new blog post is currently chitting on a shelf in the back of my mind, all about how the ethos and practice of Forest School tie in to my work as a therapeutic educator. As a preview- they tie in really, really well, not least because it is so brilliantly inclusive of all learners!
Now I must return to my risk asessments, which are definitely being made more fun by the chorus of garden birdsong 🐦🌿🌞

Here in Northumberland for a week and looking forward to resting and walking and drawing and writing and playing with two kids who will inevitably get sand absolutely everywhere!

Come March I will be sharing some more details of my therapeutic teaching practice, including what exactly therapeutic teaching is and what I can currently offer.

And at the end of March I’m off to Rookhow in Cumbria for the first week of my Level 3 Forest School training. Very excited! 😁🪱🌳🔥⛰

Wrapped up another three session cycle with this wonderful kid today. So pleased we’ll be continuing our work together next half term. We listen to music and make things and chat about life. Every child is different, every learning relationship is different, but I am always as enriched by the child as I hope they are enriched by me.

Happy New Year! Here’s a blog post to mark the beginning of a new calendar year. I feel like we would be better off celebrating the new year at Imbolc, the mid point between winter solstice and spring equinox, but I guess changing it now would involve far too much admin.
