I love throwing a big batch of the same form — you really get into a rhythm after the first few and they just start flying off the wheel. (This is from my March batch back in the spring!)

The final stop for all the pots — the packaging station!
I like to use recycled packaging from local businesses in my orders. One thing I learned very quickly was that packaging takes me approximately 2924742 times longer than I would anticipate. I'm desperately trying to get quicker!!

Every pot needs to be tucked up to bed every night. The hotter weather means pots dry very quickly — you'll find me running around the studio every night with a plastic sheet, like a rubbish summertime ghost costume.

This is what a Monday in the studio looks like. (I'm the blur.)
Pots drying, orders packing, kiln running, brain slightly frazzled — the usual! Thank you all so much for keeping me so busy!

There's something very satisfying about a studio full of pots at all different stages — raw clay, biscuit fired, glazed and waiting to find a home!

This month it's Gritstone Trail Tankards — half pint tankards thrown from a raw, gritty stoneware clay, with a carved base. Rough to the touch, solid in the hand.
Perfect for a beer after a good climb in the Peaks. Also a great Father's Day gift.

I find a bottle the hardest form to throw well. I'm essentially working blind once the neck starts to narrow. This one took about four attempts before the proportions felt right — still not sure it's there yet!
