This afternoon we held a Rhythmic Ringing course.
This course is designed to help ringers move forward from thinking of striking as staying in between the two adjacent bells towards a deeper sense of pulse and awareness of their place in the whole row.

We made good use of the Ashley B Wilson STARS Studio to support the course. As the clappers on the bells were tied, no sound was heard outside and simulated sound was be generated via Abel software to headphones worn by the ringers. A monitor provided visual representation of other ringers generated by the software.

The Abel software allows the ringer to review their striking as shown in the photo.

We are aiming to arrange regular practices using the facilities the Ashley B Wilson STARS Studio provides, to enable ringers to have more practice time so they can hone their rhythm and striking and have more rope time to practice and learn new methods.

Tonight we were at Bilsborrow supporting a practice mainly focused on Plain Bob Doubles.
Occasionally you get a practice night where everyone is absolutely nailing everything - well tonight was that night! All their dedicated practising over the past few months is really paying off. Well done all!

This evening we supported a practice focussing on Plain Bob Doubles at Goosnargh. It was great to hear all the learners are now starting to spot the signposts that can help them, where they pass the treble, who their course and after bells are etc. They are also far more confident about what they are ringing and also ringing with much better rhythm and striking as a result. Well done all!

We were delighted to host a pack of Cubs from 7th Lytham St Annes Scouts this evening.

They worked in two groups. One group were downstairs learning how to ring rounds and call changes on handbells and boomwhackers while the other group were up the tower in the Ringing Room learning about how Church bells ring and having a go at chiming a bell. Then they swapped over.

Thank you for coming to visit us 7th LSA Cubs, it was great to see you and that you were so enthusiastic to learn about ringing!
