Our edible teepee - 6 weeks in! 🌱

This project was an experiment, found in an ambitious corner of Pinterest 🥴

If I was doing it again, I'd definitely prep the ground better, check how tall everything was actually going to grow, and have plenty of spare plants ready for when the wild rabbits decide it's the perfect place to dig themselves a little burrow 😬🤣

I've sown some Alderman peas around the outside, so hopefully they'll soon start filling in all the gaps.

It's a work in progress, but it's ace seeing some cucumbers, beans and peas popping up and I'm looking forward to seeing how it grows through summer!

Just cosplaying as a cottagecore gardening girl for the day. 🤣🌸

My version of gardening usually involves tools that weigh more than me, jobs that feel like a full-body HIIT workout, and being covered head to toe in dirt by the end of the day.

Today was a nice change.

I spent a couple of hours tidying up the raised beds, cutting back some very leggy chamomile, taking pineapple mint cuttings and pinning down a few strawberry runners for next year.

When we moved in there were six raised beds, and in my head I had them all restored in a weekend...
A few months later I've managed two. But you know.... baby steps 😂

Tomorrow it's back to reality... boots, chainsaw, woodchipper, and my whole body screaming for help.

Sneak peak of our pea and bean tipi! We may have been slightly ambitious on the size, and we didnt account for the rabbits using it as their morning playground.... but we're very excited to see and share how it turns out!

And tonight Matthew, I'm going to be a Master Willow Weaver.... ......or maybe not 🤣

Unfortunately, step one appears to be acquiring some willow!

The wheels are in motion for growing my own, and having lots of long, lovely, uniform rods... but sometimes it's good to start with what you've got rather than waiting for perfection.

So here I am, stripping branches from a willow tree that a lorry drove into at the end of my lane and hoping for the best.

I've dried these out for now and I'll be collecting more before attempting my first project.

Any willow weavers out there with beginner tips?

What should I try first?
