Located in Luton, Bedfordshire, Denbigh High School has a strong local and national reputation as an outstanding school. We have 1120 students between the ages of 11 and 16 and since September 2013 we have been part of a multi-academy trust called the Chiltern Learning Trust. We are a high-achieving school with an excellent track record for academic and wider achievement. Denbigh is a thriving and

happy learning community where expectations and standards are very high. Driven by our core value statement, ‘high achievement for all is our shared responsibility’, we are completely committed to inspiring and supporting our students so that they seek excellence in all aspects of school life – regardless of their ability or background. 🎉 Another year of outstanding GCSE success at Denbigh High School! We are absolutely thrilled to celebrate these phenomenal results with our wonderful students, families, and staff today.

Our students have shown incredible adaptability and resilience, never wavering from their high standards to achieve exceptional progress yet again. We could not be prouder!

Our Headteacher, Jeremy Heath, shared his pride in the team:
"I could not be more impressed by the dedication our students have shown in securing these exceptional results. Navigating a challenging year in education makes these accomplishments all the more earned and each student should be thoroughly proud. I am extremely grateful to our dedicated teaching team and local community who have continued to inspire and motivate our students throughout this period."

Our Employee of the Month for July is James Bloom! 🏆🎉

James has been a driving force of both innovation and culture across our trust. Most recently, he pioneered the Aristotal AI initiative and shared his honest reflections at our recent CPD session—giving the whole team incredibly beneficial insights to take forward. 🧠💻

But what truly sets James apart is his absolute passion for the creative arts. 🎨✨ He has championed countless events to celebrate the arts, single-handedly helping our team recapture a collective enthusiasm for creativity. We saw this firsthand at his recent DEN Session, where he brought the quad to life with fantastic music and a brilliant atmosphere! 🎵☀️

URGENT NOTICE:

Early School Dismissal

(Thursday 25th & Friday 26th June 2026)

Due to the continued exceptionally high temperatures and in the interest of safeguarding our students and staff, the school will be closing early this week.

Key Information

Dates: Thursday 25th and Friday 26th June 2026

Dismissal: Students will be dismissed at 12:15pm on both days.

Alternative Arrangements: If you are unable to arrange childcare, we will provide supervision in school until the normal dismissal time. You must notify us by emailing [email protected] by 6pm on the evening before (Wednesday night for Thursday, and Thursday night for Friday!).

Keeping Safe in the Heat

We are taking additional measures to ensure student safety during school hours, including:

Relaxing uniform policy (students may opt to remove blazers and ties).

Providing access to shaded areas.

Encouraging regular hydration.

We appreciate that this short-notice change may cause some inconvenience, but the wellbeing of our school community remains our highest priority. Thank you for your cooperation and support.

Our employee of the month for May is Clare Chapman! 🏆🌟

With the summer term well and truly underway, our school calendar has been absolutely packed with trips. Behind the scenes of every single excursion has been Clare, quietly getting on with a mountain of paperwork and keeping everything running smoothly. 🚌📋

What’s been especially brilliant this month is how much time Clare has spent supporting our newer members of staff. Organising a school trip for the first time can be a bit of a minefield, but Clare has been right there to guide them through the process, share her knowledge, and show them the ropes.

Hannah is the definition of a team player. No matter what is thrown her way, she handles it with incredible positivity and a smile that brightens everyone's day.

We want to give a huge shout-out to Hannah for her proactive problem-solving and the amazing support she’s provided to the Geography department. She has been a total rock for our Year 11s, helping them navigate those tough final hurdles with confidence. 🌍📚
