🎨✨ KS1 Art Club – Week 1 ✨🎨

What a fantastic start to KS1 Art Club!

This week, the children explored the art style of Neoplasticism and learned about the famous Dutch artist Piet Mondrian. They discovered how Mondrian used bold black lines and blocks of primary colours to create his distinctive artwork.

Inspired by his style, the children created their own fantastic pieces of art, experimenting with shape, colour and composition. We were so impressed by their creativity, focus and artistic flair!

We can't wait to see what our budding artists create in the coming weeks. πŸŒŸπŸ–ŒοΈ

🐝🍯 Early Years Bee Experience 🍯🐝

Early Years had a very special visit from Rosemary, a beekeeper, who shared lots of fascinating facts all about bees!

The children learned about the important jobs bees do, their lifecycle, the different roles within the hive, and the special protective clothing beekeepers wear. They also explored two different types of beehives and discovered how honey is made.

One of the highlights of the visit was learning and performing the β€œwaggle dance” β€” the special dance bees use to help locate their hives and communicate with one another! πŸπŸ’ƒ

To finish the session, the children were able to taste some delicious honey, which was a big hit! 🍯✨

A huge thank you to Rosemary for such an engaging and memorable experience that inspired lots of curiosity and excitement in our youngest learners.
