πβοΈπ Transport Topic Fun! πβοΈπ
This half term, our learning theme is Transport, helping to build on the children's excitement for their upcoming summer holidays and the different ways they travel to their destinations.
Tomorrow, the children will be exploring the names of shapes as they create a vehicle of their choice inspired by the story Things That Move. πππ€
The activity has been carefully adapted to support all learners. Some children will focus on recognising and naming 2D shapes, while those who are confident with this skill will be challenged to transform their shapes into 3D models.
We can't wait to see the fantastic vehicles and creative ideas the children come up with! π
2nd photo is an example and children will be able to use their own imagination.

πβ Tomorrow, our children will be exploring the exciting concept of sinking and floating!
The children will be given a variety of different-sized containers to represent boats. They will then carefully fill their boats with animal figures, predicting and testing how many animals each boat can hold before it sinks.
This hands-on investigation will encourage curiosity, problem-solving, counting skills, and early scientific thinking as the children explore buoyancy through play. We can not wait to see their discoveries! πππ¦π’

The children will take part in a simple matching activity, where they will match each animal to its correct pattern. Once completed, their work will be placed into the finished box independently.
As an extra challenge, the children will then complete the animal pictures by drawing the remaining features, carefully observing the patterns on their fur and using their creativity to bring the animals to life through drawing.
We are so excited to see their wonderful creations and imaginations shine! β¨
