🎉👧👦 Children in Charge Day! 👦👧🎉
On the last day before the May half-term break, the children took over for a very special Children in Charge Day!
The children came to school in their own clothes, enjoyed a lunch menu chosen by them, helped to host our Celebration Assemblies and, most importantly, each class decided how they wanted to spend their day.
There was something for everyone, including:
⚽ Sports games and outdoor activities
🎨 Arts, crafts and painting
🏛️ Designing and building an entire Mayan city with LEGO
📄 Origami creations
👗 Dressing up and imaginative play
Days like these provide so many valuable learning opportunities. Outdoor sports help develop teamwork, communication and physical wellbeing, while arts and crafts encourage creativity, self-expression and fine motor skills. Building projects such as the LEGO Mayan city promote problem-solving, collaboration and critical thinking, and activities like origami help strengthen concentration, patience and perseverance.
Most importantly, giving children a voice and choice in their learning helps build confidence, independence and a sense of ownership over their school experience.
It was wonderful to see so much enthusiasm, creativity and teamwork throughout the day. A fantastic way to end the half term! 🌟
