The Change Makers initiative provides a range of extracurricular events and activities throughout the academic year, with the purpose of enhancing students' understanding and engagement with relevant social issues. Change Makers aims to elevate our students’ ambitions and acknowledge, and commemorate the positive influence they have in their local and global communities. We do so by employing a narrative of Culturally Sustaining Pedagogy, which empowers students to establish significant connections between their education and their community. Through this initiative, we foster an all-encompassing academic community that fosters a sense of belonging and facilitates learning for both students and faculty. Please follow us for more information as well as updates on our upcoming events!

I am currently working with Dr Fiona Factor here in School of Applied Social Studies (SASS) to explore ways we can involve our alumni in our on-going activities.
We recognize how many students from SASS make an enormous difference to their communities by enhancing the well-being of others through either working or volunteering across a range of organizations that support vulnerable members of the society. Consequently, SASS has adopted the name of ‘Change Makers’ as its hash tag and hope that by doing this, we will be both, celebrating students’ incredible achievements and offering current students more opportunities to become Change Makers for the future.
If you are an Alumni of UOB SASS and would like to help us please complete this survey by the 6 March 2020.

If you can help our students prepare for life after graduation in any other way, please contact me on [email protected]
In return we will give you opportunities to
• Network with your class mates and others from SASS
• Get invited to special events
• Be updated on developments in research, policy and practice within your profession.
I look forward to hear from you.
