Layers of Lurgan is an innovative wellbeing programme that uses historic OSNI maps, local industrial heritage, and guided outdoor activity to support mental health, confidence, and social connection.

This walk explores how Early Medieval communities (c.400–1100 AD) read, used, and belonged to the drumlin landscape around Lurgan and Waringstown. Participants will experience the two defining spaces of that world: the visible ridge (status, defence, community) and the sheltered hollow (water, resources, the sacred). The walk weaves archaeology, sensory awareness, and reflective practice to foster a sense of place-belonging and historical continuity.
