What a fantastic day of learning and discovery our pupils enjoyed on our field trip into Stratford-upon-Avon!
We began our adventure at the Butterfly Farm, where the children observed a wonderful variety of butterflies and learned about their life cycles and habitats.
As part of our geography studies, pupils conducted tourism surveys, finding out why visitors come to Stratford-upon-Avon and how tourism impacts the local area.
Walking through the historic streets, we admired the beautiful Tudor buildings and explored how they help tell the story of Stratford's rich past.
We also visited Holy Trinity Church, where we learned about the life and legacy of William Shakespeare, gaining a deeper understanding of the town's most famous resident.
Our day concluded with a boat trip on the River Avon, where pupils studied the river environment and considered both the physical and human features of the landscape.
The visit also provided a valuable opportunity to support our learning for Drowning Prevention Week. While travelling on the river, children discussed the importance of water safety, recognising potential risks around water and learning how to stay safe. We will be building on this important learning during a special assembly and a range of water safety activities taking place in school on Friday.
The children were a credit to the school throughout the day, demonstrating curiosity, enthusiasm and excellent behaviour. We are incredibly proud of how they engaged with their learning and represented Loxley CofE Primary School so well.
