We believe that the first years of formal education set the foundations for a lifetime of learning. Everyone working at our school puts every effort into creating a secure, caring and positive atmosphere in which children are encouraged to develop to their full potential. Our children at Gunton are confident, happy and keen to learn. They are encouraged to be independent and to develop a sense of

responsibility. Visitors to the school frequently comment on the welcoming atmosphere, and how well the children conduct themselves. We are proud of our children, and their achievements, and we have high expectations of their academic and personal skills. We value the strong relationships we develop with parents, and we invite you to join us as often as possible. We believe that more can be achieved if teachers and parents work together in partnership. Please join in the many activities to which you will be invited, as well as encouraging your child at home. We pride ourselves on having been one of the first schools to receive a Department for Education and Skills `School Achievement Award', and on our Charter Mark, awarded by the Cabinet Office, for `Excellence in Public Service'. We have also been awarded an `Activemark' for our commitment to sport and a healthy lifestyle, and `National Healthy Schools' status. As a school, we constantly seek ways to improve, to benefit our present and future pupils. Thank you so much to all the families who came along to join us for the schools' opening parade of the First Light Festival this morning. It was our best turnout ever and so lovely to see you all.

This afternoon, children from Reception to Year 6 enjoyed a fun dance tutorial before our Celebration Assembly. They were taught the dance which is going to be performed tomorrow at the opening of Lowestoft's First Light Festival.
Huge thanks to Joe who gave up her time to come along and teach us all and well done to the staff who joined in.
We hope to see you all there in the morning.

Yr 6 Athletics 🥇🏆
Congratulations to our Yr 6s who were the winners of their North Suffolk Sport & Health Partnership Athletics competition hosted at Ormiston Denes Academy yesterday. Each student took part in 2 running, 2 jumping and a throwing event against 7 other schools. Everyone showed fantastic resilience and team spirit all afternoon. What a nice memory for them to remember their time at Gunton.

I would just like to say a huge thank you to our wonderful Gunton Primary Academy PSFA for organising yesterday's Summer Fete.
They spent months planning everything so that it could be a success and it didn't disappoint. It was fantastic!

Thank you so much to everyone who came along to support the event and, in doing so, helped to raise invaluable funds for future projects and opportunities for our children and school.

Also, many thanks to the staff and Year 6 helpers who also gave up their time.

I feel very privileged to be the headteacher of Gunton Primary Academy.
