1. Understand the British Airways Brand

British Airways looks for candidates who reflect:

• Professionalism

First impressions matter heavily in cabin crew recruitment.

For women:

• Neat hairstyle

For men:

• Clean haircut

British Airways prefers a polished and elegant appearance.

3. Prepare for Customer Service Questions

Most interview questions focus on how you handle passengers and difficult situations.

Common questions include:

“Tell us about yourself.”
“Why do you want to work for British Airways?”
“Describe a time you dealt with a difficult customer.”
“How would you handle conflict onboard?”
“What does excellent customer service mean to you?”

Use the STAR method:

Cabin crew work closely together during long flights and emergencies.

Give examples where you:

• Helped teammates

Cabin crew are primarily responsible for passenger safety.

During the interview:

6. Practice Group Exercises

British Airways often includes assessment-day group tasks.

They observe:

• Communication

• Respect for others
• Confidence without dominating

A good strategy:

• Speak clearly
• Include quieter people
• Stay positive
• Avoid interrupting

7. Be Friendly and Energetic

Recruiters want people passengers will feel comfortable with.

Smile naturally. Maintain eye contact. Show enthusiasm for travel and helping people.

8. Prepare for the Reach Test and Requirements

Cabin crew candidates usually must:

• Reach overhead safety equipment
• Meet grooming standards
• Have valid documents/passport
• Be flexible with schedules

9. Practice Interview Confidence

Before the interview:

• Practice speaking slowly and clearly
• Record yourself answering questions
• Practice with a friend

10. Ask Smart Questions at the End

Good questions include:

“What qualities make someone successful at British Airways?”
“What training opportunities are available?”
“What do you enjoy most about working here?”
Avoid asking salary questions too early.

Bonus Tip

British Airways recruiters often hire people who appear:

• Calm
• Elegant

🌴✈️ From our Travel & Tourism classroom to Florida! 🇺🇸

It was so lovely to see Oli today as he came back to collect his certificates and have a catch-up — and in just two weeks’ time, he’ll be heading off to West Palm Beach, Florida, to begin his one-year internship at a very exclusive Florida country club! 🌴🏌️‍♂️

Oli’s journey to get to this point hasn’t been an easy one. There have been plenty of ups and downs, particularly when it came to paperwork, red tape and the many challenges that come with arranging an overseas internship. There were certainly moments when it would have been understandable to give up, and many people would have, but Oli showed incredible resilience, determination and perseverance and followed his dream through to the very end. 💪🏽

And this really is a dream come true for Oli. He told us from the moment he attended the internship information session in 2024 that completing the Florida internship was what he wanted to do. He really is a true example of a resilient young man 🇺🇸✨

When Oliver first joined us, he was very quiet and lacked self belief, but over the past two years we have watched him truly blossom into a confident, resilient and incredibly capable young man with a strong work ethic.

He is kind, caring, supportive and has been such a good friend to so many people on the course. And, of course, he has provided us with plenty of laughs along the way! 😂💙

We couldn’t be prouder of how far he has come and the person he has become.

We wish Oli the absolute best of luck in Florida. We know he will flourish, embrace every opportunity and make the very most of this incredible experience. 🌴🇺🇸

And his adventures don’t stop there… once he completes his internship, Oli is planning to head to Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam, to undertake a work placement with an English school. 🇻🇳🌏

We can’t wait to follow his journey in America and see where it takes him next.

Go smash it, Oli! We are so incredibly proud of you! It has been a real honour to be your teacher 🙌🏽💙✈️

🌟 A very special catch-up with some of our Travel & Tourism superstars! 🌟

It was so lovely today to welcome three of our students back to college as they collected their certificates and, of course, enjoyed a good catch-up! 🥰

And what an incredible set of results:

🎓 Olivia achieved a Merit in her two-year Travel & Tourism Diploma and will be returning to college to take on our Air Cabin Crew course. ✈️

🎓 Oliver also achieved a fantastic Merit and, in just two weeks’ time, will be heading off to Florida to begin his internship! 🇺🇸🌴

🎓 Charlotte achieved an amazing Distinction Star! ⭐ She is already a successful young businesswoman with a thriving local business and a potential offer for an exciting opportunity to work within the travel sector. 🌟

Three very different journeys, but three incredibly talented young people with such bright futures ahead of them. 💙

They will be hugely missed, but we couldn’t be prouder of everything they have achieved and can’t wait to see where their next adventures take them! 🌍✈️

What a bunch of superstars! 🌟🌟🌟

I’m really looking forward to welcoming even more of our former students back to college when they come in to collect their certificates! 🙌🏽🎓

It’s always so lovely to see how far they’ve come and hear all about what they’re getting up to next. 💙✈️🌍
