What a truly special morning we've had celebrating our amazing preschool children as they graduated and got ready for their exciting next adventure... big school! πŸ’›

We had the best time from start to finish, making wonderful memories together. Our children enjoyed a fantastic jungle-themed morning filled with fun, laughter, and smiles, making it the perfect way to celebrate everything they've achieved.

We are so incredibly proud of each and every one of you. Watching you grow in confidence, make friendships, and learn new things has been such a privilege. We know you're all going to shine as you begin this exciting new chapter.

To all of our wonderful families, thank you for your continued support throughout the year. We wish our graduates the very best of luck as they head off to big schoolβ€”we'll miss you all so much! πŸ’š

πŸ…πŸŽ‰ Sports Day Success! πŸŽ‰πŸ…

After a few weather-related changes and having to rearrange our Sports Day, we finally got to celebrate all of our amazing little athletes! 🌟

The children have been practising for weeks, and although we had to move the event indoors instead of enjoying it outside as planned, they took it all in their stride and were absolute superstars! πŸ’›

There were lots of smiles, cheers and determination as everyone joined in with the: πŸƒβ€β™€οΈ Flat Race πŸ₯š Egg & Spoon Race πŸ… Relay Race 🚧 Obstacle Course ⭐ Long Jump

We are so proud of every single child for giving it their all, encouraging their friends and showing fantastic teamwork, resilience and enthusiasm. They truly proved that it's not where you race that mattersβ€”it's the fun you have and the effort you put in! 🌈

A huge thank you to all of our wonderful parents and families for your continued support, encouragement and understanding while we rearranged the event. It was lovely to see everyone cheering the children on, and we really appreciate you helping to make the day so special. πŸ’•

Well done to all of our little champions – you're all winners in our eyes! πŸ†πŸ‘

🌟 The Magic of Playdough! 🌟

What started as a simple playdough and mark-making activity quickly became an incredible learning experience, reminding us that some of the best learning happens when we simply follow the children's interests.

The children were full of curiosity, asking one another questions such as: πŸ’¬ "What are you making?" πŸ’¬ "How did you make that?"

They proudly shared their creations, explaining what they had made and talking through the process with their friends. It was wonderful to see their communication and language skills flourish naturally through play.

Leanne showed the children how to make a circle by rolling a "playdough worm" and joining the ends together. Before long, the children were confidently using this new skill independently.

One child even made a magic wand, proudly announced her creation, and invited everyone else to make one too. She became the teacher, explaining, "First you have to roll a pancake," before demonstrating each step to her friends. What a fantastic example of confidence, leadership and peer learning!

The language we heard throughout the activity was amazingβ€”rich, descriptive and purposeful. One of the boys even started singing, "Rolling, rolling..." as he rolled out his playdough, and soon his friends joined in, turning the activity into a shared musical experience.

It was also lovely to see the children sharing resources so kindly, with many of them proudly telling the adults just how kind their friends had been.

There were so many wonderful moments that we couldn't possibly remember every conversationβ€”we were simply blown away by the learning unfolding before our eyes!
Thankfully, we captured some of it in photographs to share with you.

This is a perfect example of why we value child-led play so highly. Through one simple activity, the children developed communication and language, social skills, creativity, problem-solving, fine motor skills, confidence and so much more.

✨ Sometimes the simplest activities create the richest learning experiences. ❀️

✨🌿 A Morning in Our Magical Wonderland 🌿✨

This morning our preschool was transformed into a magical wonderland, where imaginations ran wild and every child became part of their own enchanting adventure.

Over the past few weeks, our children have been creating the most incredible small world set-ups, returning to them day after day to develop their ideas, stories and imaginative play. Today we added dinosaurs, ponies, trays of sand, sparkling glitter and beautiful marvel stones, giving the children even more opportunities to explore and create.

As they played, the children discovered they could make marks in the sand using resources from our play dough area, including lolly sticks, spoons and pots. They experimented with different textures, poured glitter through their fingers and used their pincer grasp to carefully pick up grains of sand, strengthening the small muscles needed for future writing.

One magical moment saw a child gently "showering" the princesses with glitter, while others created exciting adventures where dinosaurs and ponies lived happily side by side. Their imaginations knew no bounds!

It was so lovely to watch the children play so beautifully together. They kindly offered to share resources, invited friends to join in their play and built on one another's ideas, creating wonderful stories and memories together.

Today was filled with curiosity, creativity, communication and collaboration. Every child wanted to explore, discover, imagine and simply marvel at the magical world they had created.

Sometimes the most meaningful learning happens when children are given the time, space and freedom to follow their own ideas. Today was one of those truly special mornings. βœ¨πŸ¦•πŸ¦„πŸ°πŸŒˆπŸ’›

✨ Block Play Adventures! ✨

Today our preschoolers had an amazing time exploring our colourful wooden blocks! What may look like simple play was filled with creativity, imagination and lots of learning.

As they designed and built towers, rockets, houses and even people, the children naturally introduced mathematical and descriptive language into their play. Together we explored words such as inside, edges, measure, taller, longer, balance, bigger and smaller, while also talking about the colourful patterns they could create.

Our builders became little engineers and architects, carefully balancing blocks, solving problems and thinking about what they needed next. We also made people using the blocks, talking about different body parts and where they belong before measuring ourselves from our feet to the tops of our heads using lengths of string. The children loved comparing their measurements and discovering who was taller!

It was wonderful to hear so many fantastic conversations throughout the morning: πŸ’¬ "What will you make?" πŸ’¬ "Who will you build?" πŸ’¬ "Which one will I use?" πŸ’¬ "I need sides for my rocket." πŸ’¬ "Wow, that's so good!" πŸ’¬ "Look at my measure!" πŸ’¬ "I'll use my dad's measurer and his hammer." πŸ’¬ "We could use a measure tape." πŸ’¬ "How do you measure?" πŸ’¬ "I'm taller!"

These meaningful conversations helped develop communication and language skills, mathematical thinking, problem-solving, creativity and teamwork as the children shared ideas, asked questions and celebrated each other's achievements.

Learning through play is at the heart of everything we do, and today was a wonderful example of how a simple set of wooden blocks can inspire big imaginations, curious minds and confident learners. πŸŒˆπŸ§±πŸš€πŸ“πŸ’›

πŸš“πŸ΄ A Very Special Visit from the Police Horses! πŸ΄πŸš“

What an incredible day we had at preschool a couple of weeks ago!! We were lucky enough to welcome the police team in their big horse van, along with two beautiful police horses. The children were fascinated from the moment they arrived!

Everyone had the opportunity to gently stroke the horses and learn about the important role they play in helping to keep people safe.

The fun didn't stop there! The children took part in a role-play activity where they imagined they were at a busy festival, making lots of noise and excitement while others became police officers. They practised giving and following commands such as "forward," "backward," "left," "right," and "stop," developing their listening skills, communication, and teamwork in a fun and engaging way.

The smiles, laughter, and enthusiasm from all of the children were wonderful to see, and they thoroughly enjoyed every moment of this hands-on learning experience.

A huge thank you to the police team for taking the time to visit us and to everyone who made this fantastic experience possible. We are so grateful to have been involved alongside the school children and to create such special memories together! πŸ’™πŸ΄βœ¨

🎨🌈 Colour Mixing Fun! 🌈🎨

Last week our little learners became colour scientists as they explored colour mixing using their handprints! πŸ–οΈβœ¨

We used the primary colours πŸ”΄ Red, 🟑 Yellow, and πŸ”΅ Blue, painting one colour on each hand before rubbing them together to discover what happened next.

The children were excited to see:
🧑 Red + Yellow = Orange
πŸ’š Yellow + Blue = Green
πŸ’œ Red + Blue = Purple

Through this messy, hands-on activity, the children learned that colours can be mixed to create new colours, developed their curiosity and observation skills, and enjoyed exploring through sensory play.

There were lots of smiles, colourful hands, and wonderful discoveries along the way! 🎨😊

🌟 A Special Farewell to Gail 🌟

Today we are sad to say goodbye to Gail after over 20 years of working at pre school.

Over the years, Gail has cared for, supported, and inspired countless children and families. Her kindness, patience, and commitment have made a lasting difference to so many lives, and she has been a much-loved member of our preschool family.

While we are sad to see her go, we are incredibly grateful for everything she has given to our setting over the past two decades. Gail, thank you for the memories, the laughter, and the care you have shown to generations of children.

We wish you all the very best for the future and every happiness in the next chapter of your journey. You will be greatly missed by staff, children and parents πŸ’—
