As one of the largest Sixth Forms in Essex we offer a varied academic curriculum combined with opportunities for personal development and real life experiences. These fundamental aspects of our Sixth Form life aim to equip our students with the skills, qualifications and mindsets that will enable them to be successful in their futures. Entry

The overall entry requirement for our Sixth Form is at

least 5 GCSEs including English Language and Mathematics at A*-C, usually with at least a B grade at GCSE in the subjects you wish to continue into A-level. Read more details about our entry requirements here. Study

Our students experience academic excellence through our high standard of teaching - from Art & Design to Physics to Business studies – our extensive A-level courses provide options for everyone. This, alongside our first rate Sixth Form dedicated facilities, makes us extremely proud of our fantastic learning environment and communal spirit. Inevitably the two years of A-level study are challenging, but we strive to balance this with our commitment to support each and every student with advice, informed guidance and fun, valuable experiences along the way. If you want to learn a new language, organise a fundraising event for a passionate cause, challenge yourself in a work placement or simply meet new people, our enrichment program and extra-curricular trips are there to help you do just that. Whilst many of our students have aspirations to attend university, some have no particular career in mind or intend to seek employment after leaving Sixth Form. Regardless, as a student at Davenant, we’ll encourage you to work hard but also make sure that we help you develop essential life skills that will prepare you for progression to university or an exciting new career. If you're shopping in Waitrose, Buckhurst Hill, during the month of October, please don't forget to drop your green coin into the Davenant box! We are collecting green coins in store for the whole of October, to help raise funds for our OAP Christmas party! Thank you 😁

Every Christmas, our Y12 students host an OAP party. The event is enjoyed immensely by all who attend. Our students provide the entertainment throughout the afternoon in the form of music and dance, even comedy. They organise and hold fundraising events so that food and refreshments can be purchased, and on the day, they serve our guests refreshments and festive food.

Many of those who come to our party have been attending for years and look forward to it, as it gives them the opportunity to socialise with others in the community.

This year, Waitrose in Buckhurst Hill have kindly agreed to put this event in their Charity 'green coin' box in OCTOBER. So, please, if you shop there, remember to place your green coin in the Davenant box. Our target is to raise £100 + which will help purchase some food and other goodies for this special annual event.
