What a lovely way to end a Monday! 💕📚

A huge thank you to all the wonderful grandparents who joined our Year 1 and Year 2 children today to celebrate National Grandparents Day.

There was something so special about seeing generations come together, sharing stories, enjoying books and creating precious memories. The children loved having their grandparents in school, and we loved seeing so many happy faces! 🥰

Thank you for giving your time, sharing your love of reading and making the afternoon so special.

What a lovely way to end the day — and what a lot of love in one room! ❤️📖

🏫 RECEPTION 2027/28 OPEN DAY – COME AND SEE FOR YOURSELF! 🏫

Choosing a primary school is a pretty big decision. So why not come and have a look?

Tuesday 6th October
📍 Lift Beacon
👋 Drop in anytime – no appointment needed
🎓 Meet our Principal and have a tour of the school.

And before you choose, why not do a little homework of your own? 👀

Have a look at the new Ofsted school comparison tool. Search your postcode, find the schools around you and compare the data for yourself.

👉 Ofsted: Explore an area - https://explore.ofsted.gov.uk/

Because when you start comparing schools, you might find yourself asking a few questions...

🤔 Which local school has KS2 outcomes at least 20 percentage points above the national average?

🤔 Which school has continued to deliver strong academic outcomes year after year?

🤔 Which school has no current ‘Needs Attention’ or ‘Requires Improvement’ judgements?

🤔 And which school combines those outcomes with a genuinely inclusive community, specialist SEND provision, outstanding opportunities for personal development and a culture where children are known, supported and challenged?

We think the answer is worth coming to see for yourself. 😉

So, rather than relying on league tables, reputations or what someone down the road told you...

Come in. Have a look. Ask the questions. Compare the data. Meet the Principal.

📅 Tuesday 6th October
⏰ Drop in anytime – no appointment necessary

We'd love to show you around Lift Beacon and tell you what makes our school such a special place to start your child's journey. 💚

One of our Beacon P.R.I.D.E values is excellence.

Year 3 showed their excellence in writing this week with their setting descriptions based on different landscapes.

Their use of interesting adjectives and noun phrases have blown as away as well as their handwriting and presentation!

Pride in our work matters to all of us at Lift Beacon.

Well done Year 3! 📚✨
We are so proud of the final published pieces. 🌟

🔬🌟 Year 4 Scientists Shine at Local Science Fair! 🌟🔬

We are incredibly proud of our Year 4 science team who represented Beacon at a local science fair, competing against teams of Year 6 pupils from two other schools.

The children presented their investigation into the famous “Gummi Bear Experiment”, exploring how gummy bears change when placed in different liquids. They confidently explained their scientific methods, findings and conclusions to judges, visitors and even groups of older pupils.

Despite being the youngest competitors, the team achieved an amazing 2nd place overall! 🥈 Their teamwork, confidence and scientific knowledge impressed everyone involved.

A huge well done to our brilliant young scientists — your curiosity, determination and hard work truly paid off! 🧪👏
