4life on the world stage 💜💚 - dream big 4life juniors, Olivia was where you are now !!!!

Mixed Team Relay:

Sunday morning saw a strong British team take gold in the mixed relay event. Olivia Mathias led the team out and stayed close to the front throughout, handing over to Connor Bentley in fourth place, just a few seconds behind the leader. Bentley showed no ill effects from not finishing the men's race the day before, stretching away from the field at the end of the run to give Kate Waugh a five-second lead. Waugh broke the race apart on the third leg, building a lead of more than 30 seconds by the end of the bike before handing over to Alex Yee for the final leg. From that point on, the win was never in doubt as Olympic champion Yee stretched the lead to just under a minute, picking up his second gold medal of the weekend

🏊‍♂️🏃‍♂️ British Triathlon Midlands Academy Trials – Loughborough University

A fantastic day for our four juniors — Josh, Dylan, Jacob and Ruari — who travelled to Loughborough University to compete in the British Triathlon Midlands Academy Trials, showcasing their talents alongside some of the strongest junior athletes from across the East and West Midlands.

All four athletes put in impressive performances, with each recording a new PB in the swim — a brilliant achievement and a great indication of the hard work they’ve been putting in.

Despite challenging and windy conditions, they all ran strongly and showed plenty of determination, resilience and potential throughout the event.

A particularly exciting outcome was Josh maintaining his place in the Midlands Academy — a fantastic achievement and recognition of his continued progress.

Dylan, Jacob and Ruari have now been included in the Development Squad, giving them a great opportunity to continue developing alongside other talented young athletes. They also received valuable feedback from the coaches and, importantly, came away with a clear understanding of the areas they need to work on as they continue their triathlon journey.

A really positive day for all four athletes. Lots to celebrate, plenty to learn, and an exciting road ahead! 💪🏊‍♂️🚴‍♂️🏃‍♂️

🏊‍♀️🏃‍♀️ Endorphin End of Season East Leake Triathlon 🏃‍♂️🏊‍♂️

What a fantastic way to round off the season at the Endorphin End of Season East Leake Triathlon, where Rose, Sumayah and Ruari took on the super sprint aquathlon.

Starting in the same wave as coach Derek, the swim quickly turned into a “duel in the pool”! All three were determined to beat the coach out of the water — and they nearly all managed it! 😂🏊‍♀️

They followed their strong swims with some impressive running performances, producing some great overall results and showing just how much they have developed throughout the season.

A special mention to Sumayah, competing in just her second-ever race. She put in a brilliant performance and showed plenty of confidence and determination.

Most importantly, it was fantastic to see the camaraderie between the three teammates, supporting and encouraging each other throughout the event and celebrating their performances together.

A brilliant end to the season for Rose, Sumayah and Ruari — lots to be proud of and plenty to look forward to next season! 💪🏊‍♀️🏃‍♀️👏

🏊‍♂️🚴‍♂️🏃‍♂️ East Leake Super Sprint Triathlon 🥉

A great morning at East Leake for the final triathlon of the season. With limited training under my belt, I opted for the new Super Sprint—and was rewarded with the joy, or perhaps ignominy, of starting alongside the 4Life kids competing in the Aquathlon!

The 200m swim was going well until Rose came gliding past me in the next lane. I had just enough time to admire her fantastic freestyle catch before trying to keep up!

It was a short but seriously fast race, made even more challenging by the fact I’d run the Dublin Half Marathon last Sunday. Clearly, I hadn’t quite recovered—or at least that my excuse this time 🥴

I managed to dig deep and finish 3rd overall! 🥉💪

The Super Sprint is a brilliant addition to the event, especially for anyone with little or no training, or anyone who simply fancies giving triathlon a go for the first time.

It would be great to see more of the 4Life Adults getting involved and racing together in the spring. No excuses, folks! 😉
