Fun Little Foodies Loughborough

What a fun day we've had today at Fun Little Foodies Loughborough. 2 sessions both making Rainbow Fruit Tarts. As you can see the foodies had lots of fun and all really enjoyed getting to taste a tart and some of the left over fruit at the end.

There's still time to join for our final session of the summer where we will be making Rocky Road Flap Jacks.

Sessions take place on Mondays at 10:00am and 1:30pm. AM sessions are at The Arc LE11 2UP and PM sessions are at Woodhouse Community Hall LE12 8TZ. Sessions last 90 minutes and cost £16 per child. Sessions for children aged 2.5-11 (those 6+ can be dropped off)

After a nice 2 weeks rest, Fun Little Foodies Loughborough will reopen on Monday with a fun and exciting 2 sessions making biscuits and then decorating them to look like ladybirds.

Today at Fun Little Foodies Loughborough, we made Strawberry Shortbread. The children thoroughly enjoyed getting their hands messy making the biscuit dough and tasting the strawberries after they'd been in sugar for a while. We also read about how to hide a straw berry from a hungry bear and made our own strawberry collages.

A short 2 week break now, but we'll be back on the 10th August to make Ladybird biscuits, read about what the ladybird heard at the seaside and make a paper ladybird.

So today I've been making and taste testing this week's recipe, strawberry shortbread. Lets just say it tastes as good as it looks.

If you can't get to the seaside this summer why not do what the Fun Little Foodies in Loughborough did this afternoon and make your own. We had a wonderful time making seaside cake and crafting our own dancing jellyfish and seaside plates. There was even time for a story about sea creatures.

Foodie Fun For Little Chefs
At Fun Little Foodies, our main goal is to get kids involved and interested in food and cooking. We focus on having fun, getting stuck in, tasting new food and flavours and exploring where our food comes from. Our recipes are nutritious and show the importance and simplicity of using fresh ingredients wherever possible.

Children are encouraged to be as independent as possible and our classes will help develop their social, motor, Literacy and Numeracy skills as well as learning to cook and having lots of fun along the way!
