Kent School Appeals

Kent School Appeals Professional services and advice to help you gain the right school for your child.

All the team at Kent School Appeals are parents as well as education professionals. We therefore fully appreciate how important it is to you that your son or daughter attends a school in which they feel happy and are able to prosper academically. In an ideal scenario every family would be secure in the knowledge that this is the case but we know that this does not always occur in reality. Our etho

s is to help families secure a place in the school where they believe their child will succeed best. We also recognise the pressure that schools, their Headteachers and their governing bodies are under in order to provide a high quality education to those that they are responsible for. We will never get drawn into a conversation of rating one school better than another. We do appreciate however that every school has its own ethos and set of priorities and do our best to help you select the school that is best suited for your child, and if necessary, try and help you secure a place for them through the admissions appeals process.

Our moral conscience to pupils, parents and schools is a top priority at Kent School Appeals and we will start every process by establishing if it is in the best interest of all parties to appeal for a specific school place. We will only support families through the appeals process when we consider the choice of school is appropriate for the pupil.

At Kent School Appeals we in particular support the notion of equal opportunity and social mobility in education. We are currently attempting to source specific support and funding in order to help families claiming pupil premium in accessing an appropriate school place. If you receive Pupil Premium and wish to make an appeal for a school place, please contact us and we will see how we can help you.

"Can we still get a grammar school place with an Eleven Plus fail?"

Yes.

You can make an appeal.

But only with good evidence.

Q: What should the evidence show?
A: The evidence should show that the Kent Test was
not a fair reflection on your daughter or son's abilities.

Q: What sort of evidence?
A: Data and descriptive evidence
Data examples:
CAT Scores, reading age
Descriptive examples:
School reports showing they are consistently working at 'Above Expected Levels'.
Testimonials from teachers and headteacher supporting an appeal.
Some children are easily suitable for grammar school, but fail the test.
We have supported many Eleven Plus fails through to grammar school places.

The key to a successful appeal is good evidence, both in data and descriptive form.
