One moment of magic in a game doesn't make it a good game.
One good game doesn't make a good career.
Performance = Capacity X Access. Capacity is what you have. Access is how much of it you can use when it matters.
If you're not training access then you should be. I can help with that.

People don't just train at the Neuro Performance Centre - They step into a journey. One that, over time will lead them to where they want to be as an Athlete.
Training your brain is like training your muscles. Do it for a year then stop - What happens? All the gains you made, the reason you started to really improve get lost. You might not always put the two together, but it's that. There's a reason why the elite train decision-making, emotional control, perception, regulation - It's because if you don't, just like stopping physically or technically training, you regress.
If you're interested in becoming an MG1 Athlete next season, Spark and Prospect Program application forms can be found from the link in the bio.
Anyone looking at support at Rookie or Pro level should reach out directly into our DM's.
A throw back to some work at looking at decision-making on the ice through eye tracking. And seeing enjoying his assist! 😂😂
2 goals. 2 errors. Both can be attributed to scanning mistakes.
But it’s not just scanning - that’s the buzz word coaches use. These are both perception errors.
Not gathering full information and not being able to process that information effectively.
By the way, these are two world class players. So if there access falters, you can bet your bottom dollar yours does too.

I know I have a lot of parents who follow me on Facebook - So I wanted to share this here rather than Instagram - and I know this won't be popular with everyone.
But it needs to be said.
Parents are spending thousands of pounds every year on technical camps, private coaching, select teams and tournaments.
And after spending the last 12 months working full-time in professional football, I'm becoming increasingly convinced that most of the youth sport industry is asking parents to invest in the wrong thing.
That's a big statement.
But it's based on a season of training athletes, monitoring performance and analysing more data than I care to remember.
Here's what I keep seeing:
The difference between athletes isn't usually technical ability.
It's access.
I've seen athletes who have all the physical tools.
All the technical tools.
Yet they only access them some of the time.
One week they're outstanding.
The next week they're average.
One session they look like future professionals.
The next session they look like they've never played before.
Why?
Because performance isn't just about what you have.
It's about how often you can access it.
Under pressure.
Under fatigue.
Under expectation.
Under stress.
When the game gets faster.
When the crowd gets louder.
When you've just made a mistake.
Every technical skill in sport starts with perception-action coupling.
What did I see?
How did I interpret it?
What action did I choose?
And that process is incredibly volatile.
You can spend £5,000 building a better athlete. But if they can't consistently access what they've built when it matters, what exactly have you bought?
So if you're a parent, become curious.
Don't just ask what a camp, coach or tournament will teach your child.
Ask how it will help them access that learning consistently.
I'm not telling you to spend more money on training cognition and access. I'm asking you to think about the impact of the investment you're making.
If you are spending £5000 a year on a sport - £4000 technical and £1000 access is a far better split. Not more, just a different focus.
Missing two camps will not make a negative difference to your childs development. A years worth of access training will open your eyes to why this is the newest area of sports performance training in elite team environments (If you don't believe me, drop me a DM and I'll send over my 6000 word white paper from a season at Nottingham Forest).
Youth sport has become very good at selling more training.
I'm not convinced it's become very good at teaching athletes how to perform.
And those are not the same thing.

Great to have Falkirk Goalkeeper down at the NPC over the last couple of days for a Pre-Season tune up and assessment ready for the Scottish Premiership Season. 🧠🔥

Are you interested in understanding the impact that pressure puts on your performances?
Not just psychologically, but physiologically too? The actual changes that pressure makes to your performance.
The slightly off movement of your hands.
The slightly slower processing of information.
The slightly inefficient making of decisions.
The slight reduction in visual awareness.
All those 'slights' add up to make some big performance differences. That's why you can go from being lights out one day, to feeling like you've never played before the next.
At the MG1 Pressure Profile Sessions we use state of the art data measurements to look at exactly how you respond to pressure. Not theory - You. I'll then give you tools on how to manage it and, ultimately, improve the consistency of your performances.
