🐦 Did you know… spring is one of the noisiest times of year in nature? 🐦

Birds are singing to find a mate and mark their space — which is why everything feels so alive at the moment 🌿

⛅How often do you take a moment to look up?🐦

At the trees, the clouds, the sky above you…

Today’s little invitation is a simple one — take a moment to pause and notice what’s up there.

Do you remember during lockdown, when the skies felt quieter 🛩? Just that beautiful blue expanse, with a cloud or two drifting by…

It feels like a lifetime ago, but also still quite fresh in my memory (I had three pre-schoolers at the time!😳). I do miss those slower, nature-filled days sometimes.

If you get a chance to step outside and look up today, I’d love to know what you see 🌿

Is it a bird? A plane? Or the gentle signs of spring above you? 🌹

With many schools heading back for the summer term today, you might be taking a moment or two to…

🌿 Breathe a little sigh of relief
🌹 Notice the changes happening as the seasons shift
🧁 Think about all the lovely things ahead

Wherever you find yourself, this is your gentle reminder to step outside and take a few moments in the spring air.

It doesn’t have to be big or planned to make a difference.

A few minutes of fresh air, a slow walk, or just a quiet pause can help reset things — for us and for little ones too

🌿Happy Monday 🌿

☀️🌿 Feel Good Friday ☀️🌿

A little “feel good” idea for today…

Try the 5-4-3-2-1 method when you’re outside - a quick technique that's used to help reconnect with the world around you, especially if you're feeling a little overwhelmed or anxious (which let's face it, we all do from time to time):

🌿5 things you can see
☀ 4 things you can feel
🐦3 things you can hear
🌹2 things you can smell
🧘‍♀️1 thing you can notice about yourself

It’s a simple way to slow things down and reconnect — with nature and with yourself.

It doesn’t have to take long, just a few quiet moments can help with those feel Good Friday vibes.

🌿Enjoy the weekend when it arrives 🌿

🌞When the weather’s this wonderful, why not take a little Wednesday walk? (Sorry, I couldn’t resist the alliteration there 🤭😊)

What wonder might you notice today?

If you can, step outside for ten minutes — with a cuppa, or perhaps a little wander on your lunch break to soak up some vitamin D.

Take a few moments to slow things down as you stroll.

Notice what’s around you — the colours, the movement, the small signs of change that come with this time of year.

There’s even research to show that simply noticing nature can help lower stress levels and boost wellbeing.

It doesn’t have to be a long walk or anything planned.

Just being outside and paying attention is enough.

What did you notice? I’d love to hear if you made it out for a few extra steps today 🌿

🐣 A simple Easter make to keep both children and adults busy this week 🌿

If you’re heading out to enjoy the nice weather, why not make a little frame to gather nature treasures along the way?

Just collect a few sticks, follow the directions on the sheet, and see what you can create.

This little square wreath is made from just a few sticks and can hold whatever you find — whether that’s bits from nature or things you have at home.

It doesn’t have to be perfect — it’s the doing that’s the fun part 💛

If you give it a go, I’d love to see what you create. Pop a picture or comment in the space below 🌿

Have you had a good Easter weekend so far?

If, like our family, you're full of chocolate and one too many films, why not head outside for a stroll and combine it with this simple Easter idea 🌿🐣

An Easter-themed nature hunt…
🐦 Listen out for birdsong
🐣 Spot something fluffy
🌷 Smell something pretty
🌼 Find something yellow
🍂 Search for something crunchy
🪵 Pick up something long

No pressure, no big setup — just noticing what’s around you 💛

If you head out, I’d love to hear what you find — pop a comment below and share your little adventure 🌿

🐥Happy Easter weekend 🐣

Have you been here since the beginning? When we started this little adventure post lockdown? Or did you arrive once you heard about our hot chocolates? Either way - thank you for being here along the way.

Our Muddy Toes page is changing a little 🌿

Our in-person sessions came to an end a little while ago, but we're still here behind the scenes and this space isn’t going anywhere 💛

It feels a bit like a new path… but still the same heart behind it.

Come along with me as I start to re-share simple outdoor play ideas and ways to enjoy being outside — whether that’s with little ones or on your own nature connection journey.

🌿Thank you for being here 🌿
