🍂 Half term is just around the corner, so it's a great moment for a quick check-in.

Six or seven weeks into the school year, most children have hit at least one topic that didn't quite click: times tables, fractions, spelling rules, an essay structure or a tricky bit of Science. Left alone, those small gaps tend to grow by Christmas.

It's really common in primary school. Comprehension (spotting clues, working out what a character is feeling, putting answers into their own words) is a different skill from reading aloud, and it underpins SATs, the 11+ and much more.

At our Sutton, Wallington and Croydon centres, Year 1–6 children work in groups of no more than 3, so tutors can hear how your child thinks and build their confidence step by step.
