We Survived Stockwell Park School!

Anyone remember Mr Keung, Mrs Veal, Mr Rangel, Miss Portwine who taught Commerce, Accounts and typewriting?
Does anyone remember a PE teacher called Mr Warren?
Found on https://boroughphotos.org/ archive website. This is about 1998?
Who remembers having this chap as a math teacher? I remember the senior teachers talking about his. He used to play his guitar in the staff room before he became famous

Dont punch me in the arm!
I have looked through my Stockwell Manor school reports and there in black and white was a paragraph from Brian May who taught me maths for a year.
Hello Stock-well Park School have you Enjoy 2019 now is 2020 the New years i do miss the School a lot 😎
I attended Stockwell Manor from 1962-1967, name then was Janet Coffey, anybody on here from those days? Mr Pottle, shorthand and typing teacher was my form tutor
Roughly 1999 I’m guessing? 🤔
Anyone remember slade gardens and the foosball/table football?

I passed there today on my motorcycle and noticed it outside along with football post and ping ping table like it's been dump outside of the of the building in the pi***ng rain.

Remember good times with that and even the original classic cocktail space invaders arcade game they had that took the old 10p and the 1955 shillings I think because they were the same size.

That arcade machine is no doubt a bit of fortune now to arcade collectors.
Somebody asked if the picture of the Bible we were given on starting at Stockwell Manor (As was), could be shared on this page, so here it is.
I went there when it was Stockwell Manor. 1965 - 1970.

A place for all of who attended Stockwell Park and lived to tell the tale!!

I realise this is a page that was set up over 10 years ago. I was thinking of setting this up as a group instead as this will allow everyone to post on the wall and interact with each other (you can't do this on FB Pages).

Is there an appetite for this? (please like and comment with your thoughts if you agree)

Photos from We Survived Stockwell Park School!'s post 04/02/2023

I was a physics and electronics teacher at Stockwell Park from 1984-1987. I was Mr Nicholls back then, I took my wife's name on marriage. My wife took these photos yesterday, some of you might remember Mr Mick Smith (physics and electronics) and Mrs Charlotte Rattenbury (drama and English). They both taught at SP for a lot longer than me! I'm in the blue hat. - John-Paul Coetzee

It is with great sadness that I post this. A fellow member of the group, Char Read, informed me Mr. Dabs who taught maths, has sadly passed away. This is all the information we have to date.

If has anymore information please share it on this post.

Our thoughts are with his family and friends at this time.

I'm going to be sending an email to Mr. Utley's daughter to print off and let him read it (She has said he is a little unwell and thinks a nice message will help him feel better)

If you would like to contribute to the email with a personal message/memories/photos etc... please PM me and I will copy and paste it in to the one I send.

Please remember - if your name has changed since school days, please include the name you were known by back then xx

If anyone has *any* photos from your days at Stockwell Park, please share them with us here.

I cant remember who shared this (Thank you for doing so) however I wanted to ask if it is possible to post a clearer version of it on here please? I'd be very grateful.

Good news!! I have just had confirmation that Peter Utley is still alive!!

It is with deep sadness that I make this post.
I was recently informed by Charlene Fluffycho Howard and Martin Stevens that Mr La Mothe recently passed away.

I'm not sure of the details. I'm sure you'll all join me in remembering his time with us.
Please feel free to post your memories of him below

I was alerted to this post on another group. For those of you who knew Mr. Winsor, he sadly passed away last week.
For all of you who knew him, please post your best memories of him in the reply section.

Our thoughts are with his family.

A Message/Question from Frank Rowe:

Does anyone have any information about the BBC recording of the school choir in around 1973/4? I was part of the choir and wanted to track the recording! Thanks to anyone who can help

Hello all. Sorry it's been quite a while.
I had someone message me about the story of the girl who commited su***de at SPS during some point of its history. The one I heard was she was in a relationship with a teacher who called things off and this prompted her su***de. Anyone have a different take on it or know where I go on it can be found please?

Why dont we start up a school skill swap? There are hundreds of us to do it so it should work.

How it works: List what you need help with and someone who has the skills to help, comes forward and helps. The transaction might involve more than two people who swap skills to all help each other.

For example, if someone needed legal advice, and we have members who work in law, they can step forward and help. The original person may not be able to help that person back directly, but instead they can use their skills to help someone else, who in turn may be able to help the original helper.

What do you all think?
